"The property is GORGEOUS! The exterior grounds are immaculate and well-manicured. The juniper trees everywhere were lovely. The property is so much more expansive than I could have imagined. I believe they said 1800 acres when we checked in. The great part of that is there are lots of places to spread out and enjoy. The downside is that in order to enjoy all the amenities, (the gym, sauna, infinity pool, indoor pool, etc.) you have to drive to different parts of the property. On-site restaurants were delicious and had outdoor seating which was perfect for our June visit. The shower drain and one of our sink drains were super clogged when we arrived in the evening, but I let the front desk know and they had someone come and tend to them the very next morning. Then all was flowing smoothly again. So they were very responsive! PROS: *The scenery is hard to beat! *Food was good *Pool and hot tub close to the lodge were enjoyable *Staff was friendly and accommodating CONS: *Rooms are a bit weathered and could use an update *Key cards are very sensitive and kept deactivating so we had to replace them several times during our 2-night stay OVERALL: Highly recommend!"

"The room was quiet and comfortable.The a/c worked great. The tv was a little hard to get started but it finally worked. The bed was clean and very comfortable. The only issue I had was the Wi-Fi was basically non existent. Lots of other reviewers had the same issue. The hotel was right in the heart of this historic town. I loved it."

"A well thought remodel of an old motel. In keeping with the name, there actually is a large fire, with many chairs around. Reminiscent of Tahoe and probably as budget-friendly as possible. They will love your dogs - but having to pay $50 for EACH NIGHT you have booked is honestly, just trying to eke out every possible penny. I know many places impose such fees but it would def be a perk if they only charged $50 and a deposit, which could be returned."

"More coffee pods would be nice. Perhaps a guide how to connect streaming services such as Netflix. A (plastic or reusable) laundry bag would be nice. Perhaps a continental breakfast would be nice. (Coffee, danishes, fruit, yogurt) Adult hours in the indoor pool and spa. Hard to relax with kids playing in the hot tub, especially after 8pm. Quiet hours for balcony and patio rooms. Hard to sleep with folks next door drinks and playing music till 1am. Really a nice room, spacious and enjoyed the river view."

"Loved this hotel. The layout of the room and hotel were excellent. Everything felt clean and spacious. The high ceilings and walk in shower elevated the overall feel of the room. The pool was perfect for the kids to play in and was clean. I loved the laundry set up too—I used the washer/dryer several times while we stayed. The breakfast was fine and consistent: scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage or bacon and pancakes. Check in was pretty quick and I had the option of checking in at a touch screen system or with the lady at the front desk."
