COVID-19 has brought about substantial changes to the way we travel. If you’re planning a trip to France, these tips will help you navigate the “new normal:”
- Before booking anything, find out if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get the latest updates by checking government travel advisories.
- Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to adjust your mask for ID purposes.
- Do not hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA officer. Instead, position your pass on the reader and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
- One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on bag. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you’ll need to remove it from your bag for X-ray scanning.
- To reduce handling during the screening process, place personal items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than the bins.
- Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it’s less likely a TSA agent will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
