"The cabin was pleasant, had basic necessities. I deducted two stars because there was absolutely NO COMMUNICATION from the host. The site said there would be no one present at check in and directions would be sent prior to arrival. I heard nothing, even after reaching out multiple times. I was concerned about arriving in early evening and not knowing how to get in. Turns out there was a lock with a key in it in the front door. Also, not this host’s fault, but it was IMPOSSIBLE to get through...

"Rooms were clean and the property is old but well maintained. Lot of iguanas to see near the river. Plenty of parking. The property is about 20 minutes from the airport and is in a quiet setting."

"The landscaping of this property is amazing and the pool was great. You get to see animals, birds, and plants native to the area. All the staff was friendly and the on site restaurant had great food and drinks. The Cahel Pech ruins is this resorts neighbor so you can walk right to it. Be mindful, it is on top of a steep hill. I highly recommend and would return."

"A gem in the middle of San Ignacio. Really central - few minutes to shops and the market/restaurants. Clean and large room for our family of 3 with 2 queen beds, rainforest shower, fantastic AC and smart TV. Spacious balcony with full table and chairs and hammock. Bar is a nice touch with very reasonable cocktails, beers and snacks. No breakfast or restaurant, but the Grind coffee shop downstairs is handy and they will bring your drinks up to the hotel bar/sitting area if ordering quite a bit. Would highly recommend as a base. We recommend Guava Limb for a nice atmospheric dinner and a visit to the Iguana Sanctuarty. We had an excellent day trip to Xunatunich combined with cave tubing in the afternoon with Belize Caving based on 46 Burns St, a minute away."

"The property was much newer and hence in a better shape than the other hotel in the area. The place is well located bang in the center of the town with easy access to everything. The aircon was good, there is a fridge in the room and there is a rooftop pool. There is also a microwave and coffee in the common area The negative is that no breakfast is served. There are many restaurants within meters of the place."

"I truly have no words for Ka’Ana Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away. The grounds are absolutely beautiful—lush, peaceful, and the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Belize. But what made our stay unforgettable was the staff. The level of hospitality and genuine care we received was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. It was true concierge service, and every single person went above and beyond to make our stay special. The food was exceptional. Every dinner was outstanding, and we loved the special touches like fireside s’mores and the BBQ night. Breakfast each morning was equally delicious and consistently exceeded our expectations. If you’re planning a trip to San Ignacio to visit the Mayan ruins, explore the ATM Cave, or experience all that western Belize has to offer, I can’t recommend Ka’Ana enough. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and we would stay here again without hesitation!!"

Orchid Bay Resort

"We visited Orchid Bay in late June, and had a wonderful time. Staff were uniformly knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and thorough. Our beach-view casita was lovely, fully-equipped and very comfortable. Food at the restaurant was plentiful and varied (even for folks who have some eating restrictions, as we do). We took advantage of a variety of activities and tours, enjoyed them all, and felt that all were definitely worth our time and money. We were at Orchid Bay during rainy season, and recommend bringing strong bug spray as well as heavy-duty sunscreen - though if you forget, both are available at the sundries shop in the restaurant. If you don't plan on consuming a lot of alcohol, the breakfast-inclusive plan on Expedia may be a better value for you than the all-inclusive available elsewhere. The resort is not glamorous or in the middle of exciting nightlife and luxury shops - if that's the vibe you're seeking, you'll want to go to one of the heavily-touristed towns. Instead, Orchid Bay resort is lovely - as relaxing or full of activity as you'd like, with plenty to do and see and learn, wonderful accommodations, good food, and excellent staff. This was our trip for our 25th anniversary, and we were delighted!"
