Hotel Golden Killa
5/5 Excellent
"The host is very nice and the hospitality was great. The beds are nice cause they arent weighted blankets. Which as an american I never like to use. The room is quiet and the breakfest is good enogh. Its not too far from from downtown. Maybe a 15 min walk. "

Hotel Santa Cruz
5/5 Excellent
Great service
"The service was the standout for this hotel. David and his partner went out of their way to give us a great experience in Huaraz - way beyond providing a comfortable place to stay."

CORDILLERA HOTEL
5/5 Excellent
"The property was very clean and well-maintained. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area where the hotel is located is not in the center of town, but is a short walk to many shops and restaurants. The staff to fulfill our requests. They helped us find a tour operator, which was fabulous!
The only downside was that there was no heat in the rooms or the bathroom. It gets chilly at night at that elevation. It would have been nice to have some heat in the bathroom so you don't get too cold getting out of the shower. "

Hotel La Joya
2/5 Poor
"Repulsive.
I heard a lot of noise yesterday from 11PM to around 4AM, loud music, banging on the walls, and people yelling. The manager proceeded to explain that those are their “hotel parties” and that they “only” throw them every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - this HOTEL THROWS PARTIES UNTIL 4AM. Those parties can be heard very clearly throughout the entire hotel.
That’s not even mentioning the rooms and the manager; the rooms smell like mold, the water ran brown, the WiFi simply doesn’t work, the AC was absolutely INFESTED with mold, the cleaners barged in on me naked, and the views from the back rooms are of slums, about 15 feet away from the windows.
Furthermore, the manager Liz is beyond condescending, tried hard to deny us a refund (that we ended up having the get through Expedia after reporting the Hotel as a health hazard and talking to customer service for hours). Liz, the manager, did not know I spoke Spanish, and I overheard her telling one of the staff to “get them some free food quick so we don’t have to pay their refund”.
After we managed to force a refund through Expedia, she turned even more sour, attempting to contact Expedia to attempt to give us only a partial refund. Absolute joke of a hotel.
The ONE upside I can possibly come up with, is that all the staff (Except the manager) are lovely people who were absolutely willing to help."

Hostel Climbing Point
2/5 Poor
"Unfortunately they couldn't honour our full booking due to the person in charge having an emergency but let us stay the first night as it was late in the evening. The price was different to what was booked on hotels.com and there wasn't the stated free breakfast. Maybe this was because the person in charge wasn't there.
It was very cold due to the building not being fully enclosed. I can't comment on the trips etc which was the main reason we had booked here due to the good reviews."

Tupac Hostel Huaraz
4/5 Good
"I would stay here again. Had hot showers, near shopping center and local restaurants. The rooms were equipped with the essential things we would need for our stay. "
