"We had a 1-night layover in Athens, and this was a great option for us as we did not want to go into the city of Athens overnight. Instead we wanted a hotel close to the airport, and ideally one located close to the ocean. The Avra is the perfect mix. It's located in Rafina, a seaside fishing town/suburb, that is also one of the two main ports for ferries to the Greek islands. Friendly staff, nice restaurant and bar, and charming, walkable neighborhood with a pedestrian plaza just a block away. Dozens of dining options, particularly seafood, within a 5 minute walk, and a popular beach bar as well. We really enjoyed our stay. Shoutout to Illya in the Avra restaurant for his great service, and suggestions of things to do in Rafina."

"Very easy check in process and very kind to help us arrange a ride to the airport. Didn’t realize they have a restaurant in the hotel so we walked 5 minutes away for food. "

"The hotel was extremely clean and the staff beyond helpful. The only negative is the area. We did not feel comfortable walking around in that area. Considering how friendly everyone was in Greece the area might be safe. Additionally, the hotel offers a shuttle to and from local restaurants, which we took advantage of."
