"The staff at the Serendipity are great. Angie picked us up at the port and walked us back early in the morning on departure day, Anna served breahfasts, lunches and dinners in the courtyard, and they all helped to arrange tours. We did the kayak tour with Wesley and found it very enjoyable and informative. Also did a walkabout with Jonathan, which was lots of fun. Tortuguero was a very worthwhile place to visit, we would come back and stay at the Serendipity again."

"This place is an oasis in the rain forest! Beautiful grounds and the staff and owner were the best! Water taxis and walking is how you get around. Ton's of wildlife and a great experience! I would call it "rustic elegance". Just one item that may bother others is there is no climate control in the rooms. That did not bother us since they all have ceiling fans, but it may be a consideration of some."

"We discovered that we LOVE Casa Marbella, one of the highlights of our visit to Costa Rica this time! Family owned and run, one of the oldest hotels in Tortugero, the Casa Marbella staff provides friendly, expert, and excellent customer service (boat taxi pick up at the airport, guided tours by boat and in the preserve, etc.) The hotel is small, right on the river, and quiet. We loved staying here and definitely would go back."
