"The rooms are very well designed I assume from the day they were built as the architects drawings are in the hallway showing the exact layout from the 1930s. The Speakeasy downstairs was very cozy and felt like an early 20th century Inn should feel like. I have lived in Bucks County PA, stayed at those Inns and the only big difference was the plumbing at the Mimlyn Inn was modern. You will have a grand time here with a large group or a couple friends visiting Luray and the Shenandoah region."

"We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location. The current administration should invest funds in the National Parks, rather than divesting from them, and rather than spending untold, mismanaged, hundreds of millions on ballrooms and personal jets. This historied encampment deserves to be kept up in a more intentional way for our children and grandchildren. Can you imagine what Skyland would look like if just a handful of millions going toward a gilded jet were spent on the deep cleaning and deferred maintenance it requires? "

"It’s a great hotel. However, they don’t have non-Tesla EV chargers, nor adapters for other cars. That’s already odd, given this is a fancy hotel next to DC. But it’s even odder that they don’t tell you that there’s a (paid) EV charger in the parking lot of the Town Hall, *literally* next door to the hotel’s main entrance (a 10m walk). So when we got there with our car’s battery almost drained, we had a mini freakout until we figured out on our own how to get the car charged. Not a dealbreaker, but in theory the value of these kinds of places is that they care of the details for you."
