"Booked a two bed unit here even though I am a solo traveller as it was the same price as a studio but on the booking information it suggested the two bed had an oven as well as a hob. It doesn’t but it does have an electric frying pan. However there is a sign above the kitchen counter saying you should not cook “crayfish, curry, or strong odorous food!!” and there is no extractor fan and dire warnings about not letting the smoke alarm off. So I ended up not using it.
There is a double bed in one room and twin singles in the next, each room has a small wardrobe and some draws. There is an electric blanket on the double which worked. The apartment is heated by an air-con heater unit and there are heat lamps in the bathroom. This has a large spa bath with the shower over it, I did not try the spa bath but the water strength in the shower was fine. The towels could do with a refresh though.
The living room had sliding doors onto a patio area which had outdoor chairs on it, although the weather was not good enough to make use of it. The living room has a small sofa and armchair as well as a dining table and four chairs. The kitchen area is well stocked however the fridge was not working but the owner/manager replaced it quickly. There are TVs in both bedrooms as well as the living room and all are logged into a Netflix account which is handy as New Zealand Freeview TV isn’t great.
The downside is traffic noise from the main road but everything else was OK!"
"Great location. Perfect room on second floor with ocean views from balcony. Extra shout out to staff at reception who helped us via emails with late check in. Highly recommend!!!"
"Lovely clean quiet room, a nice staff
I’ve found that sometime a when I book through Hotels.com I get one of the not so good rooms but not this time the room was well appointed clean and quiet
Will definitely stay here again"
"My husband and I have stayed here a couple of times, each time has been pleasant. The staff are helpful and polite, and the rooms are clean and tidy with everything that you would expect to have in modern accommodation."
"We had a lovely one night stay. Beautiful spacious room with great views. Clean, warm, and such a comfortable bed. An amazing fresh breakfast to top it all off. John is a great host. Highly recommend this Boutique Hotel for a stay in Kaikoura."
"Was welcomed by a very warm, friendly and helpful host. Nothing was too much bother to her. Room was clean, tidy and very comfortable with great views looking out to sea and also the Southern Alps when sitting outside on the patio. Huge ups to the on site laundry facilities at NO charge, that was brilliant."
