Boudica's Way leads past the churchyard of St Andrew's church in Thelveton: coming from Norwich Road it crosses Church Road, passing the Grange and following Burston Road westwards until it turns off, leading across fields, to Frenze Hall, and to Diss from there. Boudica's Way is a 40-mile footpath that links Norwich and the market town of Diss on the Suffolk borders. The name Boudica (often spelled 'Boadicea', which was the Victorian version or 'Boudicca', used by Tacitus) derives from the Celtic 'bouda' which means victory. Boudica was the wife of the Icenian king Prasutagus. When he died his kingdom was annexed by the Romans, Boudica was flogged and her daughters raped. In AD 60 or 61 Boudica led the Iceni, along with others, in revolt. They destroyed Camulodunum (Colchester) and the site of a temple to the former emperor Claudius. Boudica was defeated in the end and is reported by Tacitus to have poisoned herself. The site where she is buried is unknown. The building - an estate church rather than a parish church - is of Norman origins but has been extensively restored by the Mann family, Lords of the Manor, from the late 1800s onwards. "This was our 5th visit to Ufford Park. We are always impressed. The rooms we choose have a balcony overlooking the golf course, are always clean and sufficient for what we need, with comfotable beds and a good shower. The balcony offers extra space during the warmer months. The breakfast offers a variety of food; cereals, rolls croissants, and a good english breakfast buffet. Hot drinks and juices are available. The lunch menu is good, and the diner menu has enough variety to have a different meal each night for several nights. The restaurant has comfortable seating, a good atmosphere, nice lighting and plenty of tables. The staff have always been polite, attentive and friendly. We've never used the golf course, the facilities have an indoor practice range, shop, as well as an 18 hole golf course with many bunkers and plenty of water. The spar facilities are also good. The swimming pool is a decent size, but can get crowded as it's popular, and the jacuzzi is fantastic. The gym is popular with members and visitors, and there are other spa/well-being services avaliable; beauty treatments, massage etc. We did use the thermal spa area once. It was good, but unfortunately at the time, some of it was out of order, and no partial refund was offered. Why only 4 stars? The bar/lounge area has changed over the years. We loved to sit on the many comfy sofas, spending hours relaxing with drinks and cakes in the lounge area. Now there are only 2 sofas left! Apart from that, its all good."

"Amazing stay from pre-check-in to check out. Clean room with amenities. We took our dog and they provided a dog bed, towel, water bowl and treats. Perfect bolthole for a stay away. We sat and played games in the snug area of the bar with an open fire for the afternoon. There’s complimentary canapés from 5:30pm and the restaurant had dishes for all dietary requirements. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be returning again."
