"We've stayed here a few times over the past 15 years while visiting family. The recent renovation to the hotel (and to Drumheller's downtown and area) is quite nice - everything is more modern. Our 2 bed hotel room had an island beside the bathroom hosting a coffee machine, and a good size mini fridge (no freezer). There's a single closet with a door. The beds were advertised as queens, but they were smaller - for the petite queen ! Pillows have 2 firmness options fairly suitable to most needs if you use large pillows, bedding is soft and warm. Digital thermostat works well. Modern eco friendly bathroom amenities. Toilet paper could be softer. Soft towels. TV Channels are very limited ! Sound proofing between floors is lacking (unless there really was a buffalo on the fourth floor above us !) 2 elevators. Coffee bar in the hall lobby area reduced breakfast traffic. Large, fresh-vibe breakfast room with ample seating. Decent self serve breakfast options. The pool looks clean and is popular. Breakfast hours are too short. Closes at 10am (including coffee).
We paid $245/nt + taxes, which is a already high for such a small town... And, the front desk staff informed me that the rates are going up to over $350/nt + taxes for the summer ! Rumors said it may go up to $500/nt !! Tough call where/how to travel in this economy. Besides the hoodoos and horseshoe canyon, the dinosaur museum is AMAZING and the meandering river valley is a beautiful to walk and drive."
