"Our host, Sanjaya, provided a warm welcome. Literally as he brought a portable heater into our room as the weather took a chilly turn.
Great staff who could not have been more helpful with suggestions and with an umbrella!
Breakfast was good too."

"This small and charming hotel sits high upon the hill, overlooking a nearby village and the Oliphant Tea Factory. It's a quiet location, with stunning rooms - which is a welcome change if you're staying mostly in guest houses or big resorts. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect, and the sounds and smells of nature were great - if you like the sound of birds chirping, this is a place for you. There's one tree with tons of them (they said 1,000 but I couldn't wrap my...

"The host was surprised to see us arriving........first time ever happening.
room was, of course not ready, no wifi, bathroom in a terrible condition, breakfast was a joke compare to other hotels we have been, I don't even know if it was a real hotel."

"It was a bit far from the downtown area. But not an issue for us because we have a driver. They have driver's room, but not at the same place. It was one of the best stay for us in the 2 weeks trip. Highly recommend it. The only downside is the hotel is a bit hard to locate. Its up on the hill with a very narrow street. It was quite a challenge when we had a mini van to drive up the alley. "

"This is a villa converted to a hotel. The have only 4 rooms. The description is misleading. Too expensive. Does not worth it. It should not be rated more than 1 star! The view from the room (Delox twin) is totally obstructed. It smells terrible!"

"We stayed 4 nights at Walaa Kulu, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The villa is truly luxurious, beautifully furnished, and designed to take full advantage of the stunning panoramic views that surround it. Every room offers a breathtaking outlook — the kind that photos simply cannot capture. The heated pool overlooking the lush green hills was an absolute highlight, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing evening swim even when the air cooled down.

"Excellent view from the room. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend for anyone who doesn't mind a 15 minute walk from the city centre to get a room with unobstructed views. Breakfast is also 10/10, served at the rooftop patio."
"More than anything the view! Stunning! The rooms are clean, wonderful staff. Massage with Sherima to die for…..And Mihiran English and voice projection is perfect. "
"General manager to junior staff has been truly amazing during our entire stay.
Very clean, comfortable place for nature loving people like us. The lunch and breakfast we enjoyed a lot!
We sure will come back! "
"We had a short trip to Ella and booked Hotel Onrock for one night. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill and was a bit tricky to find but once we found it, I could not fault anything about the hotel. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff were all very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The room was extremely spacious and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. The highlight for me was the restaurant. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both meals were very tasty and had a variety of cuisines on offer. All the kitchen staff were very caring and went to a lot of effort to make sure we enjoyed our meals. "
