Great place to stay in north Wales
Absolute beautiful and wonderful place to stay. A very pleasant surprise for our trip to northern Wales! The house is an older lodge that has been converted after years of neglect to a terrific bed and breakfast. The owners are lovely and hospitable, making the stay even better.

Carrie and Mike were great hosts. So very friendly! Greeted us warmly and offered us lovely coffee. Some treats for the kids. Recommended restaurants nearby. Lovely fresh breakfast. Gave us tips on scenic driving to our next stop. Wish we had more time to spend here. Lots to see in the surrounding area.

Really enjoyed our stay for three days. Lovely comfortable suite, great location for day trips around Snowdonia and a superb welcome from the owners - felt like a home from home. They created a lovely relaxed vibe with extra treats thrown in! Highly recommend and will be back.

Unique B B with great owners who don’t rush things and get it right. Suite is perfect for families and breakfast is cooked fresh if required. Couldn’t be happier especially when compared to larger/established hotels and B B in the area. Kids loved it. Will be back next year. Thanks.

Lovely relaxing stay in the Manor
We had a lovely stay at Plas Penaeldroch Manor. Cerrie and Mike made the place feel like home, couldn't do enough for us and our Dog. We had everything we needed for a very comfy and relaxing stay! They made a great breakfast and were very knowledgeable on the area and history of the Manor. We were really close to everywhere we wanted to visit which made life a lot less in the car and more time to explore.We would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends!

Absolutely wonderful!
Mike and Carrie were the best hosts possible. We loved sitting and chatting with them over a cup of tea. Interesting history for the place. Please don't let the external construction turn you off from one of the best places to have as a vacation base for Snowdonia. Their pup Lola is the best hospitality manager around. We had a family room - 2 bed/2 bath that was perfect. Leaving the windows open we could hear the river below the property. Will definitely be going back.

What a wonderful stay my family and I had at the most charming of place, and the most charming hosts. Great relaxing, comfortable room with some really nice touches that made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend for a family that needed a place home from home that they could recharge, relax and made them comfortable for the adventures the area has to offer. Bravo Mike and Carrie, keep it going you are doing a wonderful job. Carl and family.

Judy, we are dismayed to read that your review with the headline "poor". On arrival, during breakfast, and on departure, we spoke with everyone in your party, who all talked of being very impressed with the suites of rooms, were extremely happy with the quiet location and homely touches, and one commented it was the idea accommodation for groups such as yours. Perhaps you could let us know details of what was unsuitable so that we may address it for future guests.

Best stay in wales!
We arrived around 7pm after a long drive we were greeted by a very warm welcome. The hotel was in a beautiful setting in a valley with a river below. Situated very close to amenities shops and restaurants. The apartments were very comfortable, the one we hired had two double bedrooms one with ensuite and a main bathroom with a large lounge. The breakfast was amazing using local ingredients would definitely recommend going for a cooked one if you are having an active day. I would recommend and would stay there again.

The hosts were friendly and helpful. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and spacious for our family of 6. This property is unique and the surroundings are beautiful. It is located a short drive from Zip World and hiking in Snowdonia. The main building is currently under construction but the section we stayed in was recently renovated and comfortable.

A very enchanting family weekend trip to Wales
We stayed here on Saturday 29th January - all 5 of us, 2 adults, 3 kids in one of the Penaeldroch Manor suites. Carrie and her husband (David I believe) couldn't be any more welcoming and helpful. We were cooked a wonder breakfast on Sunday morning that catered for all needs, including fussy children. The accommodation overlooks stunning scenery and the pleasant sound of the river is very relaxing. The suite itself was huge, much bigger than we expected and it wanted for nothing, extremely clean, warm and cosy. We will definitely be staying again later in the year. I have stayed in at least 4 different hotels and guest houses in the Betsw-y-coed area over the last 4 years and this is by far the most accessible, child friendly and spacious, really outstanding.

Excellent comfortable stay.
Very relaxed atmosphere the hosts were kind and let us use the dining room when we had a takeway. It was very dark when we arrived so struggled to see the area and location, due to low lights but we managed to get there. In the daylight, we could see the snowcapped mountain which was really nice. The property is undergoing refurb so i am sure it will be fantastic when completed. The manor has lots of character, but alot of work so am really amazed how the owners manage all this even during the lockdowns. We had full use of the whole floor, 2 bedrooms and a sitting room which was sufficient for a family of 5. There were alot of space and comfort. However it would be good to have a small dining table or something that could fold away (as we wanted to play board games). Breakfast was plentiful, we were able to choose hot breakfast with little charge which was very reasonable.

Absolutely fabulous house and so lovely, helpful and friendly owners, we did enjoy every minute of our stay. We traveled with three kids and all three rooms we used, were absolutely superb.Very good bedding, it was warm and cosy. Great views, the river running close to the house added some quite, calming and relaxing background sound. Loved it and looking forward to come again.

One of the best hotel breaks we've ever had
We had a fabulous stay at Penaeldroch Manor. Our rooms were spotless and decorated/furnished to a high standard. The breakfast was amazing and the service second to none. There were lovely extra personal touches like some sweets in the room for the children and suncream available for guests to use. We were made to feel very welcome and this was one of the nicest hotel breaks we've had and in such a beautiful setting. Will definitely return and thoroughly recommend.

Perfect!
We finished a trip around Wales at Plas Penaeldroch and what a way to finish!! The Manor was lovely, so much room. Excellent value for money, excellent information of the local area, so friendly. We're already planning our next trip there.

Home away from home
We came here on our first family holiday sincethe COVID pandemic along, having organised for my parents and brother to stay here at the same time in different suites. From the off, Mike and Carrie were very friendly and made us feel at home. They were extremely helpful with any queries we had. Despite us being a little unlucky with the weather on some of the days, we enjoyed spending time together in the spacious suites which were in good condition and clean. Our children in particular enjoyed their stay here and there were nice touches such as fruit and some treats on arrival. All in all we really loved our stay and plan come back here in the future.

Spotless, Friendly and Characterful Retreat
Our extended family occupied two of the three newly refurbished suites for two nights at Plas Penaeldroch and we could not have loved it more. Our hosts went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. Will definitely return one day. Location: breathtaking Rooms: immaculate Service: outstanding

Fantastic suites, a gorgeous setting, great hosts
We had a fantastic stay at Plas Penaeldroch Manor. The owners are lovely and very considerate hosts and the Manor is in a beautiful setting. The suite and section we stayed in has been very recently refurbished to a very good level of quality. The beds were comfortable and the layout ideal for a family of four. The owners are still working on the balance of the building and I am excited to see it again when we go back to the area.
