"A fantastic few days stay here. Communication was great - we were collected from the ferry port and brought to the accommodation (it’s only a few minutes drive so definitely walkable, but we appreciated this with having suitcases). Location is a few minutes walk from the beach and the main area of restaurants, supermarket, bakery etc. You’re far away from any noise though so perfect location. On arrival there was a basket of goodies such as honey, liquor, olive oil, olives etc., which was a lovely touch. My husband and I enjoyed these over our stay. Apartment was huge with kitchen facilities (including big fridge freezer and coffee machine), seating area with air con and separate bedroom with aircon. Balcony was a great size too. Apartment was cleaned daily. A fantastic place to stay in Koufonisia."

"Had a fantastic couple of days stay here. Communication with the hosts were great - they knew when to expect us off the ferry and helped with our luggage up to our room. Room was spacious and modern with the best view from the balcony overlooking the sea. Prime sunset spot! Bathrooms clean and good size. There is a fridge and coffee machine. Location is at the end of the Amorgos road which is perfect as it’s lovely and quiet, but only a few minutes walk and you’re at the restaurants. Right in front of a small beach which is quiet in the mornings for a swim. Wish we could have stayed for a few more days!"

"Great location, 2 mins walk from the port and right opposite the main sandy beach. Beautifully decorated, excellent breakfast variety, helpful and friendly staff. Great to have a free mini bar with cold drinks in the room replenished daily. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. A little noisy at night with music from neighbouring bar although quietened by around 11pm. Only downside was a leaky shower that soaked the bathroom floor but easy fixed with extra bath mats provided. Would definitely stay again."

"Wonderful stay in Apollonas. Stamatis, the owner was very helpful and kindly upgraded our room as the hotel was still quiet - the first week of May. Sadly we were unable to try the best moussaka in the EU as the restaurant hadn’t opened early in the season. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional and the room had clearly been renovated over the winter. The only things that were not 10/10 were - 1. WiFi signal was weak or occasionally dropped out in the room but full outside on the balcony. 2. In retrospect we should have said something at the time but the bed was so hard. You would definitely need a car as Apollonas is a bit out of the way - but that is also a very good thing. We would definitely stay again but perhaps a few weeks later when the restaurant is open - and the restaurant in the village which was still being prepared for the season. Additional note - the lady at La Sabbia in the village makes fabulous portokalopita!"

Nysis Koufonisia

"We loved our stay at Nysis. The rooms were well appointed, quiet and spotlessly clean. The gardens and pool area were lovely - perfect for a bit of sunbathing, reading or just sitting with a cold glass of wine. The location is convenient for both the beaches and restaurants and the port, from which the boat taxi can take you to the beaches further around the island. But what really elevates this hotel is the people. All of the staff were super friendly and Panos (the owner) and Maria could not do enough to help. The complementary transfer from the port to the hotel was also most welcome. If we ever return to Koufonisia, I know where will be staying. "

"When you are met with a serendipity it is hard to find the words to explain how wonderful it is…I guess that’s why it’s a serendipity, because it’s unexpected. This was not just about the location, the peace and quiet of the island, but about the staff who became family! Alexandro’s is the manger and cook and do it all man, Sophia was our wonderful waitress, Grigorios our driver and everything guy and Eleftheria our very sweet housekeeper. To say we fell in love with each of them would be an understatement. Their care for the guests was top knotch and truly had a family feel. Breakfasts on site for a fee was the highlight of every day! The menu is small, but the food is delicious and the coffee was perfection!! Never have we felt more cared for in all of our travels around the world. Amorgian Village was a short ride from Katapoli and about 30 minutes from Aegeali which is where we came in by ferry. Alexandro’s sent a driver who charged 40 euro for the ride to our hotel up steep winding roads… we were grateful for the ride until we figured things out. We were able to rent a car directly from Alexandro’s on site which was definitely a bonus considering our location. There is so much to see on the island we were happy to have a car. Our room was at the back which was so lovely, quiet and private. We had lots of seating options both in and outside our suite. The pool was sparkling clean and a wonderful temperature. "
