Good hotel in a good location
An excellent location next to the bus stop for the 62 to town. A nice room, quiet with excellent staff who were very helpful with tickets, maps etc. An excellent breakfast and a very nice dinner, good value

Nice spot
Family room was great. Good size for a family of 4. The hotel is a nice walk into old town or there are bus/light rail options nearby. Bar and restaurant inside is nice as well.

Convenient hotel for visiting the city
Well placed hotel with a small underground parking garage (also free parking in the street outside). Bus stop just around the corner on a frequent service into the old city area that took less than 15 minutes. Baker nearby to have breakfast if you don't fancy paying hotel buffet breakfast prices.

We had a good stay, room was comfortable and clean, reception staff were very helpful. We parked outside which was great and took at bus from right outside the hotel into the town - very easy

DOG-UNFRIENDLY & PARKING-UNFRIENDLY
DOG-UNFRIENDLY: 12 Euro extra fee for our small dog, but our dog was not even welcomed to their restaurant. We have visited many hotels with our dog, we always felt like our dog was welcomed there. Some of the hotels didn't charge any extra fee, some of them even providing extra services, such as providing dog blanket, water-bowl, poop-bags, or reserving table at quiet corner of the restaurant........ This Holiday Inn, however, they just charged us the most, but they did not seem to be really dog-friendly. It is OK if hotels do not welcome dogs (we do understand it), just don't pretend they are dog-friendly when they are not. When I was searching for hotels online, I was looking for hotels which were dog-friendly. If I had known that this Holiday Inn was so dog-unfriendly, I would not choose it. PARKING-UNFRIENDLY: Parking is not free for hotel guests (12 Euro extra per day). The underground parking is so tiny and tricky.

Great steaks and burgers. Bar staff friendly and attentive. Was there for 7 days and it was a good hotel experience. Good restaurants nearby. It is about a 30 minute walk into the centre of Dresden which you need to see.

The room is basically next to the bus stop on the ground floor. So I have to keep the blind completely shut all the time, there could be literally 5-6 people standing a few feet from where I sleep. Also, the light bulbs don't work. I managed to shuffle them so that at least I get some light in the room. I didn't care enough to tell the front desk. Also, I feel the staff do not feel like I am very welcome -- I smile and say Hi more often then they would do the same. Other than that, the experience is OK./ fair. I had a very good time in Dresden.

I found this to be a very clean and friendly place to stay. The breakfast was average when it came to selection, but they gave me a full pot of good quality coffee. The staff I met were very nice, and I had a lovely comfortable and quiet night's sleep.

Not your usual Holiday inn!
First off, there's no WiFi on the 4th floor! They said they will fix that but yeah... The laundry/ breakfast card from the prior guest was still in my room! I got charged twice for the room at check out. Trying to get my money from them right now its a nightmare. They need better trained staff!!!!!

Poor first room
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The first room we were given the air conditioning was broken and the shower was too small (We were constantly knocking the tap either off or to scolding heat). After complaining the hotel swiftly moved us to another room which was much better condition overall.

False advertising
1) No AC working on warmest day of year - and no significant effort made to repair it: Room was 30 to 32C (85-90F) when I arrived; by abut 1am, with windows fully open (only a few flies slept with me) T cooled nicely. 2) Only 30 minute free Wifi use provided, after that 6 euros: ridiculous to charge at this time in progress by itself, the employee insinuated that what more could I expect since I took a flyer on quality 3-star units. She was not unkind in saying it but obviously thought that I was a cheapskate and received what I deserved. 3) Angry? yes. As much at Expedia for allowing this facility to be part of mix and at me for thinking past (+) experiences with taking a flyer with Expedia would naturally occur again. But to not have a repairman correct - or try to correct - the no-AC problem makes FFF the #1 culprit. Many guests enjoyed themselves; they must have had a car - and perhaps paid full rate. Dresden none-the-less should remain on the itinerary for any traveler visiting Saxony.

A bit far from tourist destinations
Overall it is a good hotel for its price, but beware: albeit its surrounding neighbourhood is a family friendly suburb, it is located in a suburb. This means about 30-40 minute walk or an extra transit ride to get to places. It isn't very hard to find; Dresden has planned street so it is comparably easier to navigate than other European cities.

There are are so many undeclared charges for everything you may need in a hotel (from wi-fi in the lobby, breakfast to printing your boarding pass) that may bring you to 180% of the declared room price in the web-site. Stayed at the Royal Inn Leonardo for one night before driving back to UK. The Hotel was very clean, room was large and comfortable. Hotel ticked all the boxes required for a 4* hotel. Staff were very nice and polite. Hotel is close to the Old town - no more than 10min by car / public transport. Will definitely stay here again...

Cheap in comparison to more central locations with good transport link to town centre. Great bakery across the road for choice of good priced breakfast coffees and cold snacks/ pastries / yoghurt and fruit. Very poor towels in bathroom; too small; rough and smelling strongly of bleach-not acceptable in what claims to be 4* hotel. Wi-fi very expensive and unable to sustain 2 devices simultaneously.

The hotel was nice in the fact that it was clean and safe, however I was less than satisfied with the service. The hotel staff seemed to have a negative attitude and was not very forthcoming in offering directions or suggestions on where to go. What was most upsetting was when we asked the bartender for a drink so we could bring it up to our room, she seemed less than entusiased to help and even made us feel uncomfortable for asking. Overall I wouldnt suggest it!

Very nice hotel to stay not in the city centre. Very clean room and bathroom. Restaurant downstairs... employees must have been very busy and stressed out because I didn't find them particularly polite. Nevertheless very tasty breakfasts and dinner. Decent location of the hotel, you can get everywhere on the public transport. You can leave your car just on the street outside hotel. Good value.

Easy access to Dresden centre
The hotel was clean, and comfortable. The food was good at breakfast and for the evening meals. The transport to/from the hotel is easy, a one minute walk to get the 62 bus which appears to run to time every day, at most 5 buses an hour, at least 2. A family ticket for the day is 7.5Euro's giving us access to all sites we needed to see.

The good: the bed was confortable and the hotel is 5 minutes away the center in bus. I could park the car in the street safely for free. The minibar came in handy. I appreciated the Haribos left in my bed as a welcome. The bad: the bathroom stank even though it looked clean. The hotel charges everything: breakfast, parking, wifi, internet usage in a shared computer in the lobby, printing, etc. I would not say it is a 4 stars hotel, and I would recommend looking harder for another option.

The Royal Inn Leonardo
This hotel is very new, so everything looks fresh and clean. We have booked the standard room for 1 night, there are not much space inside. As for the location, it is not that close to the city center. Otherwise, it is a nice hotel.
