" Country road unamed , Speeders 50 / 60 mph plus used as a rat run . Not safe for walking out with dog or young child . Property nice but dog has to go too up side of road as no garden . Too fast traffic passing , Settees 2 seaters too small not comfortable and I’m a size 14 , this has been mentioned in comments book a few years ago . "A gorgeous stay in Barley Cottage. It’s such a cute and well equipped cottage in the most perfect location. The bed was huge and so comfy. Highly recommend."

"My single room was very poor , needed a deep clean , bathroom ground in grime , curtains hanging off the hooks and window paint peeling off . The bed was old and uncomfortable.There was a block of wood and I wondered what it was for , I realised when I opened the window that you needed it to keep the window open . Fan didn’t work in the bathroom . The toilets downstairs in the old part absolutely stank of sewerage , and that’s not new as they stank the same last year when I visited for a wedding ."

"The bedroom was clean, cool and comfortable, with a very good Freeview television unlike other hotels in Sheffield! The bathroom was very clean with a powerful shower, although the flush on the loo needed a lot of strength. The pool was clean and staff very helpful, with generous towel width. Noise was a factor as even early on Sunday morning there seemed to be a live band nearby. Breakfast was less than ideal with no gluten free options, table spoons given to eat cereal with and only fried eggs on offer as the egg option. Reception looked as though it was under siege with the ceiling opposite held up by two wooden struts. As customers had to pass under this ceiling to reach the lifts, the sense of having the building on top of one's head was palpable."
