The overall summary for this is… “well … It’ll do.”
But I’ll walk you through the experience. The lobby is actually nice, but the check-in is shared between Movempick and Novotel, and took forever. When I went up to my room, there was an unpleasant smell in the hallway, the same, you might experience in large residential towers in Dubai, that familiar smell of stuffy AC air. Upon entering the room, it’s surprisingly large, which is visually relaxing. The decor was simple and nice. The finishing was less than perfect, small dots of paint can be seen on the floorboard in the kitchen. There was a part of the rug that was just cleaned and was still wet, but I stepped into wearing my socks (hate that :)). Even though I had requested a non-smoking room, there was a faint stench of old smoke. The lighting of the room was actually nice, so was the Lighting surrounding the mirror in the bathroom. Unfortunately, there was no coffee machine, furthermore, there were no packets of instant coffee, only tea, and when I called to get some, that took around 20 to 30 minutes, which is a bit annoying in the morning (take away my liberty but don’t take away my coffee, right?). These room service people were very kind and nice on the phone, and when I ran into them in the hallway. The staff in the front desk were clearly stretched thin, but they were also pleasant to talk to.
