"It was really hamming up its Scottishness. Fake suits of armour, shields on the wall, animal skulls everywhere. Just wasn’t classy. The food was ok. They had tried with the vegan option - gnocchi with fried mushrooms - but could have done with some veg and a sauce. They’d run out of Pinot Grigio Blush. However the only real complaint was the price over £300 for a night, and it really wasn’t worth that. The bathroom was much lower quality than I’d expect for that price. Chipped laminate bath panel, faded chrome, holes in the tiles that had been filled in."

"Fabulous location with free parking. However room wasn't great for the money they charged. Paying £100 for a very run down basic room was too much. We travel a lot so in comparison to other rooms for the same money I would rate it low. Certainly wouldn't stay again. Didnt try the food so cannot comment on that."

"The staff was ultra polite and caring. He even made sure we have lactose free milk for breakfast on our second morning after we told him that my husband is lactose-intolerant. The rooms were clean. There were spaces for free parking right in front of the property. The bus stop for the double decked busses 3 and 29 taking us to the center is super close and the bus ride is through some nice districts. I recommend.👍"
