Hi Ayanda,We do not accept bookings after 20h00 and your booking agent Expedia are aware of this. We do not have a 24hr front desk, and arriving at 23h00 to check in would not be possible. You never actually stayed at Bon Ami, and therefore you are not permitted to post a reviews.

Thank you for taking the time to review Bon Ami. It is very helpful for us to receive pointers on where our service fell short. We apologise for the damp smell, but I dont think there are many places in Durban that do not have a damp smell after the recent flooding and heavy rains. You were here over the Easter weekend, the busiest weekend of the year, so there would be a lot of activity both on Florida Road as well as our guesthouse - people come with noise, but we do try and keep the 'buzz' to a reasonable level, so our guests are able to relax. The room you chose to book has a bathtub and handheld shower. All our other rooms have showers - had you mentioned it at the time, I could have moved you to another room with pleasure. Thank you again for raising these issues - I hope I have addressed them adequately

Hi Paul, thanks for taking the time to review our guesthouse. We do apologise again for the noise made by some of our guests. The guests responsible for the first nights' noise were asked to leave after that night and did not return for a second night. The second group of 22 arrived with no booking and were relatively quiet. On returning from their night out (after midnight) they were asked to be quiet (by myself), and again at approx 02am by our night manager - to no avail. Noise is not something we tolerate, which is why we offered and made the refund (at least 2 weeks ago).

We sympathise with Fazil, as his booking through Hotels.com was a disaster. Hotels.com accepted his booking for Bon Ami even though we were fully booked. They had double-booked a room that had been occupied by a guest who had been with us for 2 days already and still had a further 2 days to stay. I first tried to contact Fazil, unsuccesfully. We immediately contacted Expedia, and after much discussion, they agreed to contact the guest and place him in another accommodation. It seems that Fazil had not been contacted by Hotels.com/Expedia and he arrived to check-in only to be told by us, he had been double-booked by his booking agent, and that we were unable to accommodate him. My apologies to Fazil for our part in his unpleasant experience, unfortunately this was due to circumstances beyond our control.
