The Majestic Sanchia

The Sanchia Luxury Guest house is more than a home from home. Needful to mention is the warm and genuine welcome ushered to us by the senior lady who looks after guests. The breakfast muesli she prepared for us was to die for. Fantastic place to stay!!!!!!!!

3 nuits et 4 jours que nous aurions eu envie de prolonger sans hésitation si la poursuite de notre programme de découverte de l'AF.DU.SUD ne nous avait pas poussé plus loin ...Le sanchia Luxury Guesthouse procure Une réelle sensation de bien-être dans un espace ouvert et bien pensé, comme un hôtel relais chateau 4 étoiles avec la salle petit déjeuner et le salon Bar-terrasse accueuillants.

Nice place but service could be better

Stayed at the guesthouse for 2 nights. Some of the staff were friendly but not all of them. We experienced loadshedding early one evening and the lady on duty did not bother offering us candles or the rechargeable lights. We had to go ask for lights. Breakfast took too long to prepare in the mornings.

Nice Guesthouse, but not 5 star

Overall we had a nice stay. The staff is welcoming and the grounds are well kept. I am not sure if "guesthouses" operate on a different star rating than regular hotels, but if you would benchmark this with a Hilton property it does not measure up. The towels seemed old and there were issues with alarm noises during our stay, which made it hard to get to rest. Also the staff started prepping breakfast at 4 am or so and you could hear the dishes, we continued to sleep, but someone who cannot fall back asleep easily might have a rough time. Also, you need a car or use Uber/taxis since this is just a residential area. We had a car and to the main beachfront it is about 12 min drive. I think is also about expectations and value, if the place had a 4 star rating I would have not written this review at all. But don't expect a 5 star experience like a major hotel chain would offer i.e. fluffy towels, robes, spacious rooms, easy to adjust room temp etc. Breakfast was nice and staff is nice as well.

A wonderful residential property offering stunning views of the Indian ocean. We received a warm welcome on arrival, shown around the house and to our delight were given a room upgrade since the room was unoccupied. Room was clean, spacious and offerred a good nights sleep. I would definitely recommend this guest house.

Provita was amazing! So gracious kind abe fun

We were upgraded to a luxury room, waited on hand and foot and could not have asked for better service! Because the taxi was a bit late taking us into town one day the manager comp'd our transfer to the airport. Elegant surroundings in a small European style B&B. I would highly recommend the Sanchia!!!

Overall a very nice guest house.....

The guest house generally lives up to its description. Rooms are comfortable although rooms mpst rooms open directly into the pool side area so lack the privacy of a normal room - you have to draw the curtains for that! Breakfast was freshly made each day with a good selections. Staff are helpfull if asked although they dont volunteer any help. Location was handy for Umslanga and plenty of restaurants as well as close to airport. Constantly barking dogs nearby can get a a little wearing - but keeping the air con on drowns it out.

King-sized bed not provided

The booking was made late October for the last week of the year. The booking specified a luxury room with a king-sized bed. The room offered had a queen-sized bed. The room itself did not reach my expectation of a luxury standard room. It was spartan and smelled of damp. The towels were of poor quality and the small melamine dressing table was chipped. The reception area had a chair whose arms were split and the desk was untidy and not giving the impression f a professionally run operation. Ordering breakfast was on a slip of paper to be handed in by 21:00 the night before. when our unhappiness was reported to the receptionist, she called the owner and we were told that s/he would come later that evening. we insisted that s/he came immediately. The owner came immediately, recognised our disappointment and offered an immediate and full refund which we accepted even though we had nowhere to stay. We were surprised that this guest house achieved a 5 star rating.

Excellent stay at the Sanchia Guesthouse. Staff are very welcoming and do everything that they can to make stay comfortable. The daily breakfast was amazing. Only thing that would have made stay better is if room had a phone and an iron. Otherwise definitely worth the price and great environment and beautiful ocean view.

Sanchia Luxury Guesthouse

We had a wonderful stay at the Sanchia Guesthouse. They arranged transport to and from the airport for us and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and the huge jaccuzi bath was thoroughly enjoyed after 24 hours of travelling. Breakfast was delicious and overall we would give 5 stars. Highly recommend.

I found this GEM in a Durban that has many "sub standard" guesthouses. Very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was exceptional! I will be back.

Very nice property

Was there on business for a week. The owner went out of his way to ensure we had all we needed. It's a nice place but you would need a car to get places. There is a supermarket across the road and a fish restaurant.

Beautiful guesthouse

I'm not one for writing reviews, but this hotel is amazing. Beautiful rooms. Comfatable and very clean. There is a communal area, which is a balcony that over looks the sea. It's worth the money to sit and watch the sun setting. Worth every penny.
