"Kruger Park Lodge in general is a very nice property. The property is very well kept, clean and well looked after. The facilities are great with the hippo hide where you can watch hippos safely as well as an extremely nice golf course on the property with impala walking on the course. "This is a nice property near Phabeni gate of Kruger National Park, which is just a 6 minute drive. Akani is a great host and if you need anything he will bend over backwards to help! You can park right next to your chalet, which is very helpful. - I personally hate lodges where you have to park a distance away! - There is a pub nearby that gets noisy at times, but if you run a fan it drowns out the noise. The property is very close to the main road and is very safe! "

"What a hidden gem!!! Tucked away behind the orchards, you will find the most delightful family greeting you to go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. What a beautiful setting! "Property had no internet after day one. Messaged owner via Hotels.com - no response! Had to go and buy a sim with data to use the internet. "This was our 5th visit to Elephant Plains. It's the most affordable option in the Sabi Sands and an excellent place to stay. Since our 2022 visit, they have updated the rondovels. They're super comfortable with everything you need. Staff were great. They seem to have simplified the food options (an improvement) and the quality is great. You go to the Sabi Sands for the exceptional leopard sightings and amazing safaris. This place does not dissapoint - in one drive we had 2 leopard cub sightings, a female on a kill, close elephant encounters and lions. It's worth every cent! For self-drivers (at May 2025), the roads to Gowrie Gate are horrendous and haven't improved much in 10 years. Map out your journey before hand. We used both Google Maps and the maps provided by EP. Gowrie Gate entry was R510 (cash or card) and the conservation fee added to your bill at EP was R620 so factor that in too. Elephant Plains is a must do!"
