Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Memphis Marion, AR
4/10 Poor
"Honestly for the price I expected a lot more. But the hallway outside my room was super hot, wallpaper peeling off the walls, carpet cut in places and coming up completely.
I had made a reservation but that didn’t help anything, they had ran out of king suites before I was able to check in. My reservation literally meant nothing, so I was given a double room which whatever no big deal, my issue is how the staff kept saying and this is why we don’t want our customers using third parties. Just my opinion if you don’t want people to use third parties then remove yourselves as an option on those sites."
"I knew the area was questionable but was disappointed when we drove up to the property. At first, I thought we surely were at the wrong location. The building was not what was pictured on Hotels.com. It was run down, dirty, and smelled like a litter box outside. There was mud and dirt in the portico. There were people hanging around smoking outside. If we weren’t so tired, we should’ve kept driving and found a better location and accommodations. Very sketchy area. Worried for our vehicle in the parking lot.
The front desk attendant was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. We did not try the breakfast that was offered."
"Great Location. Desk attendant was not on duty upon arrival. Not sure if there was an emergency or shift change, but I waited about 15 minutes in the lobby for someone to arrive. Other than that, breakfast was ok, not fantastic for me, but grandkids like the items available. Lots of parking. Felt safe. Looks newly renovated from my last stay over 5 years ago. Not far from Interstate, but far enough that you won't hear traffic all night, as long as TV stays on. Did interact with staff the next morning, and had no concerns. Take note: there are three other hotels within the immediate vicinity of the lobby. So if you arrive later in the night, you may have to park in one of those lots, which I saw other drivers doing. Facility was clean. I felt comfortable. Most restaurants and store were in West Memphis Arkansas, which was about a 10 minute drive. There were a few gas stations and restaurants located right around the hotel, but most others were in West Memphis. If you want a room facing front of hotel, choose an odd number. For the rear, choose an even number. There is some construction happening in the rear, but not sure if it's related to the Hampton Inn. All in all, I'd recommend."
"The room smelt like cigrette Breakfast was awful, infact they ran out of it at 8 am, when we were told that breakfast was till 9. The other guests said they were ther at 7 yet they didnot have anything and would not refill it."
