"The photos on Hotels.com are misleading. The exterior shots are mostly of the attached restaurant Loxley's, not the Heritage Hotel itself. The restaurant is wonder and is the saving grace of this otherwise fine but not outstanding hotel. Room cleaning was bizarre and unfinished. One day they gave us fresh trash bags but did not remove the full ones from the room (we placed them in the hallway and they were not removed for hours). Another day, they made the beds but left crumpled tissues on the beds. One in our party took the top blanket/comforter from the other bed because they were cold. In all the days we were there, housekeeping made the beds and then tossed the borrowed sheet back on top. We would have understood if they folded it back onto its original bed or just folded it up and left it on the end of the other bed, but just tossing it across the bed, partially lying on the floor, was disappointing to see. Shower struggled to get hot water for a whole shower. The location of this hotel is phenomenal; everything we wanted to do in Lancaster (downtown area, Bube's Brewery, Jason's Woods, Dutch Wonderland) were all 20-30 minute drive away. All in all, it wasn't the experience we expected based on the photos and housekeeping was disappointing but it suited our needs for our vacation and Loxely's restaurant is really good; recommend going there for the restaurant alone."
