"My room was spacious (presidential suite) and clean. The location is perfect.
The staff was pleasant and helpful, and it was quiet, with a very comfortable bed.
I do wish for better TV service--it was low resolution and very limited. The carpet in the hallway needs to be replaced (ugly!)
Overall, it was a good stay, and I appreciate the folks who brought it back/renovated it from going away a few years ago!"
"Friendliest, most helpful staff in recent memory. Another hotel next door (same parking lot - walkable) - has a great restaurant/bar.
Well-stocked shop with Notre Dame goodies.
Nice breakfast.
Easy parking.
Only negative thing ….They have EV charging - but it is through B-Link - which is a cruelly expensive service. Overnight to put in 150 miles : $96.
Despite that, we are returning next month."
La Quinta Suites by Wyndham South Bend Notre Dame Area
8/10 Good
"Stayed here during move in weekend for my son at Notre Dame. Decor of the hotel was impressive with all of the Notre Dame stuff on the windows and in the lobby. Ample parking in the lot. Staff was friendly. Room was mediocre, especially for the inflated prices during Notre Dame functions. Orange mold in the shower, sink didn’t drain well, brown drip-like drop stains on the bathroom ceiling vent. Weird stains on the back of the bathroom door and the door wouldn’t stay closed unless tightly shut. AC pulsed the entire time it would run. It kept good temperature, but it sounded like a jet engine humming softly and then loudly over and over again. Something definitely wrong with it. Paper thin floors and ceilings too as we were on the second floor and could hear people walking above us constantly…at all hours of the day and night. We got a late start one day and left our room at 11:30am and our room wasn’t cleaned or made up that day. Bed was decent, but the pillows were awful. Room had 2 queen beds and each bed had 3 pillows…none of which went together. All different levels of softness. Desk lamp only worked if you shook the end of it. Thought it was a loose bulb, but no luck. Lamp just had some issues."
"Staff was amazing! Everyone we ran into was super kind and helpful if needed! Very attentive and friendly! Breakfast was pretty good, suggest getting there early as we liked sitting by the window to see the park. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing! It's very upscale but dressing casual wasn't an issue. Got to try waygu and duck. There are lots of delicious options. Room was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend!"
