"La Casa del Mundo is a beautiful and unique place, but I strongly recommend planning the arrival carefully if you are driving. The hotel is only accessible by boat, so drive to Panajachel first, park there, and take a boat from Muelle Tzanjuyú directly to the hotel.[lacasadelmundo] Waze sent us toward Santa Cruz La Laguna, which was a bad experience—the road did not feel safe, and after all that driving, you still have to take a boat to reach La Casa del Mundo. Save yourself the trouble: go straight to Panajachel and take the boat from there."

"Un hotel que no ha perdido su encanto y se ha ido renovando con el transcurrir de los años. Tuve mi primera experiencia viajando con mis padres en un lejano año 2002. El hotel ha mantenido su toque clásico que data de 1935. Fuimos con mi familia justo en la época de feria y fiestas de independencia. La habitación limpia e impecable, no tuvimos problemas para descansar a pesar del ruido que podía existir en las afueras del hotel, el staff muy profesional y atento a las necesidades de mi familia. La piscina techada, limpia y climatizada. Los desayunos muy buenos y con excelente atención por parte de los meseros. Todo queda muy cerca desde su ubicación (restaurantes, antros, monumentos principales, cafeterías, etc.). El estacionamiento puede ser un poco complicado de encontrar la primera vez ya que se encuentra en la parte trasera del hotel pero vale la pena la experiencia, pienso volver con mi familia y los insto a que sigan adelante. Y lo mejor de todo, el check out a las 13:00 horas me parece una política excelente que permite un verdadero descanso y el poder disfrutar del hotel como se merece. Saludos!"

"Customer service, at check in, front desk clerk accommodate us, we arrive at 9:30 in the morning, find us a room, we paid a small amount extra . The property is well kept, the public restrooms immaculate. The room as we enter had a card on the bed with a fancy packed chocolate. Water and coffee was provided. Tha bathroom amenities had a fresh and clean scent, it was clean. Breakfast was top notch. Service was exceptional, the young server was very attentive. Dinner was a little bit different. The food was excellent. Very poor service, slow, we were the o ly ones in the entire dining room. Even though the server wasn’t interested on providing attention to us. The parking area very safe, the parking attendant was attentive and very helpful. I like the location, it wasn’t to Fay from the historic area,"

"Loved it here the hotel is close by to the center of town and close to the lake the restaurants are very close by and the staff is very nice. I got to sit out for the eclipse and the fresh air was amazing sitting outside on the rocking chair. Had parking for the car which is a nice addition since a lot of the hotels don’t have it."
