"We had a wonderful stay at Serena Boutique Hotel in Aguas Buenas and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Puerto Rican experience. From the moment we arrived, Ricardo made us feel incredibly welcome. He was always around the property, working hard to keep everything running smoothly and making sure guests were comfortable. His wife, Gloria, was also wonderful—she prepared fresh breakfast every morning, and it was always delicious.
One of the things we loved most about this place is how tucked away it is. It’s far from the busy city areas, which makes the experience feel unique and authentic. Even the drive there feels like you’re stepping into a different side of Puerto Rico. The property itself is beautiful, and you can really see how much care Ricardo puts into maintaining it.
If I could give one tip to future guests, it would be to rent a car if possible. If you stay out late in San Juan or other areas, it can be very difficult to get a Lyft or Uber to drive up to the property, as many drivers decline the trip. Ricardo is very kind and willing to help, but since it’s a small family running the hotel, we didn’t want to bother him late at night.
The only small thing we noticed was that some of the tiles could be a little slippery, especially since it rained quite a bit during our stay. Other than that, everything was fantastic.
Overall, this was one of the best experiences we’ve had staying anywhere. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic"
"Excelente la experiencia en estadía en el 1912 Hotel Boutique de Cayey. Me quedé junto a mi esposo por un asunto de trabajo en Cidra pero nos encantaría regresar. Al momento no tienen ascensor pero próximamente lo estarán instalando junto a otras amenidades que tendrán. Apoyemos lo nuestro!!!"
"Palmas Del Mar is a beautiful community filled with kind people. It was pleasant to be within walking distance from a variety of places to eat. That said, the room was mid tier quality- I stayed there for 5 days and the WiFi worked a handful of times throughout. The shower must’ve produced an 1 hr of warm water across the overall total 5 days!!! Freezing cold showers eventually took away from the relaxation of being on vacation. Worst of all for me, were the falsely advertised laundry and pool. That picture of the pool on Expedia? Doesn’t exist. You’ll have to factor in paying a day pass to another resort to use theirs if you want a pool. And then when being charged twice for a cleaning fee for having dirty laundry! Laundry that I would’ve happily washed if there were the advertised washer and dryer. Beautiful town but stay somewhere else "
