"The New Yorker is a my go to choice when I'm attending an event at Madison Square Garden. The staff is excellent, and the beds are oh so comfy. The rooms and hallways are showing some wear and tear and some of the rooms are small. Pretty sure what's advertised as a queen bed is actually a double, but it was still fine for two people. The double bed rooms are much larger. While it is not a high end property is is certainly good enough when you don't want to break the bank but still feel safe. 24 hour Tik Tok Diner is a plus. I definitely think it's the best value around this area."
"My, this place is tops!!!
Outstanding check-in assistance, clean room, comfortable bed...
The restaurant is Fantastic!! Again, service is impeccable ~
The rooftop bar has an Amazing view + once again, fantastic service ~
Easy 5-10 minute walk to Madison Square Garden or 42nd Street, whichever your preference...
Great, Great Stay!!! Thank You"
"The breakfast at the restaurant was excellent and convenient. Room was very clean and modern. Great location steps from the action. We would stay again."
"Great location — very convenient, close to everything, and walkable. However, the hotel itself was disappointing. The elevators had long wait times and were often inaccurate. The service, especially at the gift shop, was a terrible experience. The only exception was the gentleman at Starbucks, who was genuinely kind and attentive.
Cleanliness was also below expectations, dust was visible throughout the room. For the price and reputation, I would think twice before booking again."
"In general, the hotel had what I needed. Beds that were comfortable and a bathroom. I chose this hotel on a budget and I think I got what I paid for. The bathroom is small and there are fewer amenities than many other American hotels (i.e. no coffee maker or microwave). The bar inside didn’t seem to be open for the stated hours but there is a nice bar next door (technically in the same building). We arrived later than expected and they gave away our room but had another room with twin beds to put us up in for the night and did give us a discount due to that. The bathroom was not stocked with enough towels for four people and the request for another towel wasn’t fulfilled until the following morning when housekeeping came through at 9am. The hotel is in a nice location close to Times Square but on a side street and not directly in the hustle and bustle but still walking distance. "
