"This resort was built maybe 5 years ago and it's so nice to have a new, clean place to stay in the area. The staff was all very helpful, super eager to talk to us with more detail when we asked. It's also fun to have the casino and concerts and restaurants and spa all in one building! Loads of parking, maybe 20 minutes from SIU. For those with younger kids, there are two restaurants, a cafe and pool outside of the "carded" casino area which is of course 21+."
"This hotel never left the 70’s. I’m pretty sure it hasn’t been updated once. The beds are awful. Spring coil mattresses that have definitely outlived their springs. Broken furniture in room, broken lampshades, cracks in walls. Sketchy but the only hotel close to the fair grounds. "
"Selected pet friendly on Expedia found this place, pre paid only to show up and have the manager hit us with a mandatory $50 pet fee. Must have been in the fine print hidden to my eyes. Folks that's close to a 40% up-charge, be very cautious booking this place."
"We had issues with there being no trash can in our room, as well as no toiletries except for the shampoo and conditioner that were attached to the shower wall. The beds were lumpy and hurt our back. The area was ok and close to shopping and restaurants. The air conditioner worked well"
"The room was very clean. Very warm when we entered but was easily adjustable. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. That says alot about the the community, city, and local university. "
"Room 104, It's a queen handicap accessible room..tub with shower chair, standard 17 inch toilet which I was grateful for. Bring your own shower gel they only hv that rough bar soap..
Room has a mini fridge and microwave..both were clean..the bed was a mattress on top if a steel frame. I slept fine so I won't ding them for the mattress..The breakfast consisted of 2 cereal canisters there was milk and a empty oj carafe 1 yogurt left..basket of tangerines..wont say they looked the best..bc they weren't as firm as they should be..but edible..I didn't do the coffee bc well yeah I didn't like the set up..I made 2 slices of toast the condiments where in the fridge so that ws good.
No check in issues so if I ever visit rend lake again they may be a cheap option..160 for 2 days..peaceful and it has a plenty food and gas options.."
