"This is a lovely hotel for a visit to Colmar. It is clean and stylish, but retains lots of character from the historic building. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and engaging, and seem enthusiastic about Colmar, which we loved. Understandably the air conditioning is probably limited slightly by the building, and to get a good nights sleep in the summer it pays to open one or more of the convenient modern windows in the room. Generally we loved it."
"This was our second time staying at the hotel after having one night stopover a couple of years ago.We really loved it then so this time didn’t have any doubts when booking.I just didn’t realise that last time I had booked premium rooms and this time I’ve booked standard ones instead. They would have been great for one night but for three days we found them a little bit too small and not very comfortable especially with kids.No fridge in the rooms too which was inconvenient.Beds were ok,additional pillows too.
Our rooms were overlooking the main road so a little bit noisy at some point and as there are the parking bays just under the windows- lot of talking from people parking there too.
Great breakfast with many selections of food.Breakfast could become quite busy in the mornings and finding a set up and clean table was a challenge .
There’s a parking for additional fee that needs to be booked in advance which is handy(we knew this from previous time but after reading the reviews from other people so keep that in mind).
The rooms were tidied and cleaned to some degree daily.Bin hasn’t been emptied until the second day although it was almost completely full on the first one.The shower gel/shampoo was over when we checked in and hasn’t been replaced/topped up until we left. There were some hairs on the bathroom floors that haven’t been cleaned at all and made it look not very appealing.
Otherwise staff at reception and at breakfast area was helpful."
"This hotel is full of history and characters! Really enjoyed the decorations. The rooms are large for French hotels, and breakfast was rich. There is no air conditioning in the guest rooms, but it was comfortable during the night although it was a hot summer day around 35c during the daytime.
There are free parking spaces outside the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants in the walking distance from the hotel. Will love to stay there again."
"Booked last minute. Perfect for a weekend stopover whilst travelling. Pool added bonus. Breakfast service to order and collect fresh pastries is ideal. External lights outside room not working so was a bit dark but thought this might be to reduce bugs.
Suggestion for couple or chairs or bench nr table tennis table.
Beds comfortable apartment had everything needed, some furnishings looked a bit well used. Balcony a perfect treat to sit on, was very hot when we visited a large fan was provided which worked well until we had to close doors at bedtime, a second fan for the bed room may have been of help but still with such hot weather it was just moving hot air about. Perfect location for walking into the village where there are plenty of places to eat just be mindful if you go on Sunday as less options as lots where closed for food."
"Location, size of room and breakfast were lovely! However it was let down by inconsistent staffing of reception! On arrival in the evening despite knocking on several, what seemed like office doors and ringing reception we still had an appalling wait for a member of staff! He seemed to also appear from one of the doors we’d knocked on so had ignored our knock. When he did arrive (short male with short dark hair) he was miserable, unwelcoming and didn’t tell us any of the usual information such as breakfast times and location or pool opening times. The pool area also had a disgusting looking area of water that was there before you had a chance to avoid it and couldn’t avoid it if you wanted to access the pool! Looking dirty and not nice at all!"
