Unforgettable Adventure at America's Best Inn
"Well, where do I even begin with our stay at America's Best Inn and Suites in York, Al? It was like stepping into a thriller movie, and I'm not sure if I was the protagonist or the unwitting side character.Picture this: It's a Bama game weekend, and hotels closer to Tuscaloosa are demanding ransom money for a room. So, I found this gem of a place on hotel.com, and let me tell you, it was a steal – or was it?As we approached the motel, my wife looked at the building and said, 'Yeah, how about we try a different hotel, this looks sketchy.' Little did she know, I had already committed us to this adventure.Upon arrival, we encountered the motel's version of Fort Knox – a bulletproof window and a locked lobby door. We finally made it to our room, only to find an ashtray in a 'non-smoking' room, stained sheets that could tell a thousand stories, and a shower that performed a never-ending water dance.Surprisingly, no bed bugs joined our adventure, so we actually slept soundly. We tried to enjoy some TV, but premium channels were off-limits, of course. Now, let's talk about the much-anticipated 'free breakfast' that I spotted on hotel.com. Imagine my surprise when I found out there was no breakfast when I went to turn in our room key. It turns out the breakfast was as elusive as a unicorn. As we checked out, we encountered the motel's 'staff': one sleeping on the lobby couch and another doing laundry in some undisclosed room. I left the room key in the window slot like a secret agent.A"
