"We enjoyed our stay at the Empress. The service is excellent and every employee we met was friendly and helpful! The concierge helped us book excursions and tea and answered any questions we had. The turndown service was an added touch that we appreciated. It was interesting to learn that the honey at tea was from the on-site bee hives!"
"Having only a 12 hour stay, we didn't have a thorough assessment of the whole building, but what we did see we liked and would recommend it in future."
"The Sandman hotel is very good to excellent (good internet, comfortable beds and super clean). Staff, especially John at check-in were super helpful and friendly. A friendly greeting every time we walked by the desk. The unfortunate part is that the Denny’s restaurant attached to it is quite the opposite…staff who often ignored us when we walked in and seemed disinterested in their job. It also has a terrible odour problem which seems related to floor cleaning and was there every time we walked in. Thankfully there is a Tim Hortons down the street, as well as a cute cafe (2% Jazz) not far away."
"Booked last minute, staff were super accommodating. I got a free upgrade as well.
Great value, great location too; you are outside of Downtown Victoria but just 5-6mins.
My only complaint was the shower being small I am 5’10. Not really a huge deal though. Will be staying again. Decently deep pool too which was a bonus! Check in and check out were easy, and parking was easy to find. Which is always a bonus for Victoria. "
"The house restaurant should have had happy hour. They let us early check in when the room was ready, that was nice. Love the modern interior and comfortable room and the spa area. Convenient location."
