"very nice Hotel - Food was good. Restaurant staff is very nice but needs more training. Too long of a wait for service and food. Hotel was clean. Rooms were amazing. a Bit far from downtown but there is transportation(Taxi is around $40 one way to airport)
Front desk staff was very accommodating and professional. Beautiful people
Spa was too pricey and small."
"We liked everything about Vanira Lodge, in particular the quirky accommodation, the grounds, the views, the restaurant, the roosters and the wonderfully helpful and friendly owners and staff.
The driveway to the lodge was potentially a bit tricky if a vehicle was coming from the opposite direction, but that never happened during our stay.
In summary, I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying staying at Vanira Lodge."
"This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. The closest grocery store (outstanding selection of fresh fruit & veggies, meats, and baked goods) or restaurant is 2.5 kilometers from Punatea Village.
I would stay there again, but only if I had a rental vehicle."
"We had a wonderful 3 night stay in the Panoramic Tree House. It was such a unique space to explore and sleep in and added so much to our stay in Tahiti. The staff were so kind, friendly and helpful with local information. The Tree House is an impeccably constructed space, with modern fixtures, air conditioning and privacy hidden inside a huge mango tree. We felt very special. Our daily breakfast with local baked goods and fresh fruits was a great way to start the day. We enjoyed a daily walk into town, to explore the town and sample various restaurants. Louis and his wife are terrific hosts and we were lucky to have this opportunity on the Island!"
"The property was beautifully maintained with a lovely eating area overlooking the ocean, surrounded by lush tropical garden and a pool to dip in to escape the heat. Rooms are spacious, lovely decorated and very comfortable king bed.
Best part on top of all this is the Hostess Valerie who makes you feel like family. Nothing is too much for her, and s beautiful breakfast daily available with other guests and Valerie felt like we were visiting friend rather than staying on our holidays.
Highly recommend, merci beaucoup Valerie."
"Overall a nice place to stay with a few caveats. Easy check-in with the keys on the counter and quick response by email. We stayed in Aura where two rooms have AC and one does not - was not a problem for our stay. The third room has a fan. The rooms have plenty of open shelf space for clothes. The deck overlooking the lagoon and private pool were favorites. There was a nice breeze during our stay. Bring bug spray though (as with most places on island).
It would have been nice to have hand towels and wash clothes, not just bath and beach towels. Also, some hooks in the bedroom to hang up towels or clothes. The shower has body wash and shampoo; some shelves for personal washing supplies would be helpful.
There was a lot of roof noise one particular night from what we think were birds collecting seeds from the tree overhead. Our neighbors didn't have the same foilage so this may be specific to our Villa. It bothered some of us more than others, so if you are a light sleeper, the islands of Tahiti in general can be noisy with dogs, roosters and other wildlife.
The WiFi worked well but we had to request the password. This proved difficulty since we had spotty personal service.
There were chocolates left for us at check-in which was a nice welcome.
Thank you for sharing your Villa with us."
"This place is magical. Beautifully landscaped, the decor and layout is inviting and original. The owner, Martine, was incredibly helpful with any needs we had, full of tips on what to do and proud to share her knowledge of the place. It is a tranquil oasis, interrupted only by the clucking of roaming chickens and roosters. Perfect for a relaxing get away in paradise."
"A really lovely relaxing two night stay in a beautiful location and extremely friendly and helpful owners. We would truly recommend this location for anyone considering staying here."
"We loved this lodge! It has an incredible view from the balcony. We had the entire upstairs available to us, but only needed one of the two bedrooms, the bathroom & the use of the kettle & refrigerator. We had all we needed & more! The owner is very nice & she took great care of us while we were there. Highly recommend the TeMana Lodge!"
