Fairbank Holiday Rentals

"We arrived and the reception area was locked . There was a note on the door to ring and then they attended via car .I was asked my name on the driveway my name and told key in the room . We left this morning . Again no contact door locked again and left key in drop box . I don’t find this as customer service . I wondered what would happen if there had to be an evacuation or and emergency . The room was clean however our room with a queen and single bed had one pillow each . Unusual this day and age as you normally have extras . The bedside lamp had been purchased at an op shop and I noticed that electrical items had no inspection tags . The kettle does not fit under the tap to be able to fill it. As the night was hot we had pushed the doona onto floor where we observed that it was stained . This was the first time we had stayed here in years . I can honestly say that we won’t be back . Customer service begins at the first interaction which this place clearly doesn’t have . "

"Room has not been cleaned, fan in the bedroom hasn't be cleaned for at least 5 years. The same as the fan over the shower, there hairs from the guests before on tiles and bench in the bathroom, shower & bathroom needs a deep clean to remove the dirt. The air-conditioning is in a window high above the sink in the bathroom which you can't turn on unless you are 7 foot or stand on a chair. Towels are so thin from use don't dry yourself properly. On arrival the person was very nice but did not give me the wifi password and it was not in the information book. I would not stay there again. I took photos if you want them."

"The room was spotless, the staff were very approachable and friendly. I’ve stayed here before, many years ago, was disappointed the pool is now filled in . I could smell cigarettes smell , not sure where it was coming from as it wasn’t the immediate neighbouring rooms , and there were pesky little ants , but not in any food , just surface crawling All in all it was a pleasant stay, easy ti find and easy access to the town centre "

"Stay away. This place is not reliable! We arrived at Eugenies to find no one onsite to let us in to the property. I called the number posted and it went to voicemail. I waited several minutes when another guest came by and let us in. I tried calling Michael, the host again. He did answer this time, but said he did not have a booking for me and did not work with Hotels.com. I booked this hotel months ago and received a confirmation. He said he was fully booked and wasn't onsite. His only recommendation was to try a place a mile or so away. The people there tried to help and did much more than Michael at Eugenies. It was a holiday weekend in Australia and no hotels were available in the area. We had to drive over an hour away to find a hotel. As a result, we were unable to take a morning cruise we had booked. After the fact, I looked at the reviews on Hotels.com and see 2 reviews posted in the last 2 weeks! So if they stopped working with Hotels.com it was very recent. They should have notified us when they did so. Very unprofessional!! "
