Wonderful - Featured on Home & Garden TV (HGTV)

Found the perfect B & B to accomodate our stay while touring the Napa Valley and Sonoma Wine Country. The owners are truely lovely people and took care of all our needs. Our stay was an absolute delight with stunning interior and exterior settings. We highly recommend the Starr Mansion and its superior presence in comparison to the finest lodging accomodations. We love B & B's and the Starr Mansion is not the Ritz Carlton, but just as prestigous in a different why.

Lovely B&B

Nicely upkept victorian home. Owner is very, very friendly and chatty. Breakfast was amazingly delicious. B&B offers board games galore, as well as a small selection of DVDs and books. Great place to stay if you are travelling at a leisurely pace and like to talk. It's a very good location if you want to be near both Napa and the Bay Area, or near main highways. One caveat is that it is one exit down from the Richardson Toll Bridge which is something to remember when you are looking for a place to eat, or heading anywhere on the highway, if you need to avoid tolls. If you're a very tall person, you may not be comfortable. I would stay here again, especially if I were on a winery-focused vacation.

Outstanding B&B and a great change from a hotel

My wife and I took this B&B because of the reviews on hotels.com which were all outstanding and we weren’t disappointed. It’s a fully restored mansion with a fantastic couple running it. The breakfast is superb and they will try and cater for all dietary requirements. You'll need a car to get around, but if your there for the Napa Valley or the car racing you'll be driving anyway. We received great advice on what to see and do in Napa based on our requirements. Oh, and if you like Victorian fixtures and furnishings this is definitly the place for you!

Renovation project salvaged an historic building

Beautifully renovated 1860s mansion with nine bedrooms for guests. Great central location for Napa nd Sonoma valleys. We enloyed our visits with the owner, his teenage daughter and the young resort/ food service intern. All gave us good advice as to dining, etc. The breakfasts were great: 3 or 4 courses, usually.

Highly recommended if you are in the Napa area

I spent a day in Napa and then drove about twenty minutes to stay at the Starr Mansion. We had apparently the cheapest (and smallest) room in the house. Our host referred to the room as "cozy" and I must agree. The house and grounds are lovely and the hosts were highly accomodating. They served an amazing breakfast and were eager to be helpful. I highly recommend it if you are visiting Napa and don't mind a short drive to avoid paying extra at a less interesting hotel in Napa. The only draw back was the neighborhood, which looked a little suspect, but seemed to be safe.
