We had an amazing stay. Staff were friendly, breakfast was delicious and we chose to have an evening meal which was also great with a varied menu to suit everyone.
Thanks to team Trout!
Excellent location.
Understaffed, very pleasant man behind bar also needed to check our booking, take us to our room, act as waiter and serve at the busy bar. Room (hare's ear) dark and cold, despite ambient weather, In desperate need of revamp particularly bathroom with loose lavatory seat, loose shower controls, mould around bath.
Breakfast (our only meal) was a shambles Very slow service, unusual menu with no cereals, fruit juice or fresh fruit menu offered pastries and one choice from long list of main courses. The tea/ coffee served first, twenty minutes later, when drinks had cooled toast and marmalade arrived and after the same time cooked breakfast arrived and looked cremated rather than fried.
I am glad we only booked one night and we shall not repeat.
Disappointed. More shabby less chic. £180/ night - terrible value, totally ripped off. Room 2 (something Hare) needs complete renovation: frayed carpets, no info in the room about anything (wifi? How to use coffee machine?), bathroom needs complete refurb it was embarrassing for somewhere with 5* ratings!, shockingly bad, cracked tiles, mould, paint coming away, cobwebs in every corner of bedroom & bathroom.. I don’t think the room was cleaned tbh.
Location was handy for thames path walks and restaurant food was good (breaki wasn’t great - poached eggs were hit & miss), bar staff were friendly. Won’t be returning.
No milk or biscuits in room, adding service charge to invoice, expensive average glass of wine, charging for room before arrival, unable to pay cash for accommodation.

good to spoil yourselves occasionally
expensive but very large rooms in adjacent building. Staff all super friendly and unstressed even when busy. Food lovely.
Spotless, comfortable accommodation. Lovely food at family evening dinner and good breakfast all served by pleasant, helpful staff. I had booked the "two bedroomed suite" which didn't quite match the description. A bit pricey but we all enjoyed it.

Could have been perfect
Overall we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and pleasant and we particularly liked the little seating area outside our room. The breakfast was excellent (apart from the smell of the hoover which was going during our meal) I did however mention this and the waitress closed the door. The evening meal which was roast did not represent good value and there were limited vegetarian options. The room was nicely furnished but needed touching up in places. Tea & coffee facilities good but no biscuits! The wifi also didn’t work.
Be very careful when staying here and check your bank account because they took payment from me numerous times and only because I have push notifications set up on my bank account was I aware that it was happening
Really relaxing and very friendly staff, the hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfortable so we had a good night sleep, the food was delicious, hot and nicely presented. Location was quiet which was good for us but we did have a job to find the pub, but we will go back again
Great stay at the Trout, beautiful location room was perfect and the staff were wonderful. Restaurant is great and can cater for gluten free with and outrageous sticky toffee pudding GF
A pleasant stay, just for one night while walking the Thames Path.very friendly service all round, restricted menu but what we had was excellent.( pub style fish and chips and Posh burger)Nice comfortable bed and room.
The room was very good and the food excellent. The views are not much but it is convenient for the Cotswolds a short drive away.
Service was excellent and very friendly.
A really warm and friendly welcome at the point of arrival, friendliness and time given all the way through to the time of leaving. Room was large, clean, great amenities and lovely view. Evening meal was great quality as breakfast was large and great choice of fruit cereals etc in addition to the cooked breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would not hesitate in returning, which I hope to do socially next time rather than business.
Business stay. Comfortable room, good shower, perfect poached eggs for breakfast. Arrived late and left early so didn't use wi-fi or eat dinner there, but would stay again.
Comfortable stay - only disappointment was the WiFi connection, very poor and for some reason extremely difficult/impossible to connect my laptop. With the poor network coverage then Hotspot was not an option either.
Otherwise, all was good. Room was a good size with good amenities. Clean and a
Perfect stay.
I love staying here; food is amazing and so is the service and decor.
Thanks again guys!

Coffee and tea making facility was nice. Nice to have bottled water and an ironing board with iron in room. Nice decorating and good sized room. However lots of old features mould on ceiling, rotting wood, bathroom - flow of water in the bath not great and lots of water build up while having a shower.
Loved this place! It was nice and quiet, so I slept pretty good. The bath tub was amazing..I really enjoyed a nice relaxing soak. And lastly the breakfast was one of the best we h@d on our whole trip. We will definitely be back to this charming little place by the river. Cute as a button, clean and pet friendly. We enjoyed the free kisses from all the dogs visiting..made us miss ours. (wish we could bring ours from the states for a little English get away 😉).
