"My husband and l are from the USA and stayed for one week in February 2026 in a room with a king size bed and ocean views. I was very nervous about going to a remote island with no chain hotels or known car rental agencies. The island businesses are completely run by locals using whatsapp. Mar em Mim had only 12 reviews at the time l made the reservation, so it was kinda risky, but l it had everything l wanted. I was so pleasantly surprised. The pousada (bed & breakfast) was exactly as pictured...

"Pousada muito bem localizada, excelente cafe da manhã, os quartos poderiam ser um pouco mais espaçosos e o chuveiro melhor, mas no geral achei o custo beneficio excelente! O grande destaque da pousada pra mim foi o atendimento, fomos tratados com muito carinho e atenção. Henrique vc é maravilhoso! Lybia mto atenciosa, as funcionarias do cafe da manhã e da limpeza sempre com um sorriso no rosto, fazendo de tudo para que nos agradar! Os funcionarios foram exepcionais, sem palavras para agradecer tanta atenção e carinho conosco! Mesmo se eu não tivesse gostado da pousada eu voltaria só por causa do atendimento!"

"Amazing place, they take care of everything for you, from picking you up from the airport, to booking trips, negotiating prices, moving your luggage and more. Breakfast is one of the best I have tried, better than most 5 stars in Europe, they plant their own food so it's all organic and fresh, with fresh juices, cake, croissants and a cooked a la carte menu include too. Rooms were clean and confortable, felt like home. You just try the restaurant, we were meant to eat there once or twice but ended up eating there a lot more because it was the best island. The staff was so kind a special thanks to Cintia, Marcela, Alyson and Higor. "

"This hotel is a bit rustic, but overall it’s a nice place to stay. One big plus is the gym — not many hotels on the island have one — so that was great to have. There’s also a decent pool and an on-site restaurant, which made things convenient. The staff is very friendly and genuinely tries to be helpful. Every day around 5 p.m., they offer a complimentary tea time with tea, coffee, and small island treats, which is a really thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet has a good variety of options, and we enjoyed it. There was one small issue during our stay: when I asked for extra shampoo and more cups, there seemed to be a language barrier and the items never arrived, which was a bit frustrating. Aside from that, we had a nice stay and a good overall experience. "
