![Apollonia (Ancient Greek: Ἀπολλωνία κατ᾿ Ἐπίδαμνον or Ἀπολλωνία πρὸς Ἐπίδαμνον, Apollonia kat' Epidamnon or Apollonia pros Epidamnon) was an ancient Greek city in Illyria,[1] located on the right bank of the Aous river (modern-day Vjosë). Its ruins are situated in the Fier region, near the village of Pojani, in modern-day Albania. Apollonia was founded in 588 BCE by Greek colonists from Corfu and Corinth,[2] on a site initially occupied by Illyrian tribes[3] and was perhaps the most important of the several classical towns known as Apollonia. Apollonia flourished in the Roman period and was home to a renowned school of philosophy, but began to decline in the 3rd century AD when its harbor started silting up as a result of an earthquake. It was abandoned by the end of Late Antiquity.

"Die Unterkunft ist sehr modern und schick eingerichtet, das Hotel ist noch sehr neu. Eine der Mitarbeiterinnen war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, in 50% der Fälle saß jedoch jemand am Schalter, der definitiv minderjährig ist, kein Englisch versteht und nicht einmal grüßen kann. Allgemein ist die Belegschaft sehr jung, aber die Mitarbeiterinnen sind sehr freundlich. "

"This accommodation was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and well situated. The bed was so comfy, and we appreciated having the sofa as an alternative to just sitting on the bed. Bathroom was spacious with an hot and powerful shower. Crisp linens and fluffy towels provided. Ample parking and a choice of nearby restaurants. The host was very friendly and hospitable. "The hotel is immaculate we had a beach front view and the sun beds were excellent ..breakfast was ok and became a little bland ..everything was spotless.......but.........the staff take there phones off them somebody please manage this hotel properly..the young staff are more bothered about face book and tik tok than serving you...the girls on reception were constantly hanging off there phones ...the internet was terrible but did work at 06.00 as none of the staff are there on there...
