"Had a lovely stay at Windsor cottage. Well presented, great amenities and the most comfortable bed in the master bedroom. Slept like a log! Ate out in local restaurants, which were lovely especially Alberto’s Italy. There are a couple of free parking areas in town 5-10 minutes away. During our stay there was a film set in place for Father Brown and a restriction at the end of the road. It didn’t take away from our stay, but was glad of the premier inn parking just a 100m away. "Great hotel, beautiful building. Appreciating the hotel is family owned, it could do with a little modern tlc TV didn’t work in the bedroom for channels 1-4. Extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work, towels are quite old, Check your dinner bill, we had 3 bottles of wine added to the bill but we’d only had 1 £25 bottle. We were being charged for 2 x £45 bottles we’d not had. When we called to get the tv satellite sorted in our bedroom it was the waiter and head waiter who attended our room #faultytowers Could be 5* but I’m reluctant to give it more than 3*, £200 for 1 night without breakfast is expensive for mother and daughter aged 83 & 52. We’ll shop around n xx time."

"Rooms are very dated, no air conditioning and very small bathroom. It can be very noisy in the corridors and we were woken up early both mornings by other guests. Otherwise it is a good location, a 5 min walk to the bus stop which takes you straight into town. The staff at reception were friendly and the car parking for £10 per night was a good addition."

"Beautifully clean, large room, however, we stayed during the bank holiday heatwave and the air con wasn't working. A portable air con unit had been placed in the room but wasn’t enough for such a large space. Unable to open windows, so had a sleepless night due to the unbearable heat. Huge room, great shower and very comfortable bed. We also stayed for breakfast which was amazing! Beautiful hotel just a shame that we chose a boiling hot weekend to stay."
