"The pool was cool but small. Lots of bugs floating in it like it hasbt been cleaned. The rocks around had a lot of graffiti as well. The younger check in staff definitely lack in personality. Beds weren’t very comfortable. Probably wouldn’t spend $200 for this room again but it was fine. Did the trick"

"The Royal Kelowna was nice, but not great. It has a strong location and the rooms were tidy, but overall the hotel felt like a property that used to be excellent and has slowly stopped trying as hard. The lobby is not very grand, and there were small things throughout the property, like parts of the elevators, that seemed worn down or in need of attention. The maintenance staff were great, and the rooms themselves were clean, but the overall management and guest experience felt a bit tired. The front desk experience was odd. The staff did not seem especially interested in guests or in making the stay feel smooth. We had an issue where the showers in our room were not working properly. After spending an evening in the room, we were told it was “impossible to fix” and were offered another room. We packed everything up and moved from a Premium Suite to a regular suite, which was not the end of the world, but the front desk staff were unable to process any sort of refund or adjustment. I was told I would have to come speak to someone at the front desk about it later. They saw me walk past several times after that but never followed up or mentioned it. The in-room amenities also felt cheap for the type of property: basic shampoo and conditioner, and a poor-quality hair dryer. It gave the impression that costs had been cut in places guests would definitely notice. Overall, it is an odd hotel in a great part of Kelowna."

"Checked into a pet friendly room, carpet was disgusting, bedding was dirty, sink plumbing leaked and lock on the patio door was broken. Went to visit other family in another room with 9month old twins and had them laying on the bed when we noticed a thumb tack sticking out of the bedding right between one of my babies legs, proceeded to rip the bedding apart to get the tack and found a large brown stain on the comforter. Eventually got all that bedding changed and then got them to move our room to something not so disgusting. Moved into a pet friendly room that appears to have newer carpet but the tried 6 different key cards that did not work to enter the room and eventually got a card that worked the following day. Overall very unsatisfactory and they didn’t seem to overly care about the tack in the bedding that could have stabbed one of my babies"
