The Dockside Inn & Restaurant

"Unfortunately they had some staffing and town water issues when we were there so we couldn't try the restaurant which is why they only got 4 stars. The great view, room size, and amazing location made up for not being able to eat at the restaurant. The room could use some updates and the bed was smaller than we expected, but we would 100% stay there again. Worth paying the extra money to stay in town and would 100% recommend this place to anyone passing through."
The Homeport Motel

"We stayed in the motel portion of the Homeport Motel and Inn. While the exterior needed maintenance, the room was updated, comfortable, and clean. Parking was convenient as it was directly outside our room. The location was good for exploring the seaside town of Lunenburg. I recommend ordering a pizza and a craft beer at Shipwright Brewing and breakfast at the Barn. Be sure to download the HotSpot app for parking in the downtown area. We never interfaced with the staff at the Homeport. However, all communication was electronic, accurate, and efficient. I would stay at the Homeport Motel again."

"We didn’t get a good impression when we went to check in as no one was there. We stood there for 15-20 minutes but no one came. We rang the bell and phoned, but still no one answered. Finally, we called and left a message and the owner came from the back to check us in. The staircase to the upstairs (first impression for visitors) was filthy. We get it, people come in with their shoes on, but first impressions mean a lot. The breakfast was okay and we were happy he asked about dietary restrictions when checking in. Parking was really good at the back."

"The rooms are directly above the restaurant. The staff are great. Our room overlooked the restaurant patio and Lunnenburg wharfs. There was chatter and activity until closing. There is no A/C but it cooled off quickly with the windows open. The bathroom fan did not work, nor did the lower receptacles on the bedside. We unplugged the bedside lamps to charge our phones."
