"Just returned from a three night stay at The Duke Hotel and loved it. The staff are welcoming, attentive and friendly. The hotel is short walk from the town centre and bus terminal which made getting about easy.
The room was clean, comfortable and well laid out with plenty of storage. the bed was comfortable, and made up every day by housekeeping. Aircon was welcome in the heat!
We used the heated pool at the Hotel which was lovely. Towels and robes are provided to make things easier.
The bar area and terrace was lovely with reasonable prices. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening as we like to go out but the menu looked good. Breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choice.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return."
"Two night Staycation with my wife. My wife is a little difficult when choosing food, but the hotel was happy to meet in advance of our arrival so my wife could pre-order alternative meals for both nights. Lovely pool and sun bathing area - extremely lovely breakfast and evening meal. And we had asked for a fridge in the room which was also fulfilled."
"It’s just really lovely at Les Douvres, the breakfast is great and the rooms are comfortable. The bar is excellent and the staff are outstanding. If the hot weather continues I think they’ll have to succumb to air conditioning. But other than that brilliant!"
"Fabulous position for the sunsets. The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. Main issue was the busy and noisy road at the front of the hotel. Food excellent."
"Room was great. Food was good although menu a little limited.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Did have issue with fridge that was reported and checked during the stay but wasn't fixed.
Overall a good relaxed break."
"A good hotel with lovely views and garden. Staff helpful and friendly. Hot water system a bit suspect. Meals very good but no variation. Other resteraunts"
"We stayed in the cottage suite which was very spacious and comfortable. We had a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, cooker and oven which meant we did not eat out all the time during our one week stay. The hotel is very conveniently located in central St Peter Port. We found all the staff very helpful but wondered why our room was serviced in the late afternoon every day just as we were returning from our day out and ready for a shower etc. It was extremely hot while we were here and the air conditioning was a little overwhelmed so the room was very hot despite keeping the curtains and blinds closed. We had a great holiday and will be back."
