I stayed for 3.5 weeks and everything was very good. The staff are friendly and will help you with anything you need. The room was nice and the location is excellent. I recommend using earplugs in the night since the walls are thin and also for preventing outside noise to wake you up.

Pour une nuit ou 2 ...

Nous étions seulement de passage avant de repartir le lendemain tôt le matin pour l'aéroport. Nous étions passé dans cet hôtel au début de notre séjour et l'emplacement nous convenait (proche centre ville et arrêt de bus), et le prix était attrayant. Mais chambre inconfortable, beaucoup de bruit extérieur, accueil très moyen, cuisine avec seulement un frigo et un micro onde donc pas de possibilité de se faire à manger.

Just returned from my stay at Hospedaria Por Do Sol. As a solo traveler, the hotel was ideal for my budget. Excellent and very friendly customer service from a family run hotel. Fresh towels daily and breakfast on offer if booked in advance. The hotel is within walking distance to the Marina, shops, restaurants ect. It is also around the corner from the SAM bus depot where you can catch the bus to and from the airport. (5 euros) It is on a narrow steep street so be prepared if you have luggage on wheels! There are no lifts at the property and flights of stairs so travel light if you can! There is a lovely terrace where you can sit and watch the sunset and an indoor seating area with tv. There is a communal kitchen for guests to use. A pleasant stay and a good base to explore Funchal and surrounding areas.

Excellent budget option in Funchal.

Superb value hotel / pension. Room small but adequate. Shower OK. Excellent wi-fi for the size of the place. Friendly service. Location not ideal (up a hill), but so long as you don't want too many frills, highly recommended.

Basic Guest House, friendly, close Funchal centre

A boutique Guest House, 10 minutes walking from Funchal centre. Amenities a little tired and old, however fully functional and in line with expectations at the price! Clean, towels changed on request, bed linen also clean and bed comfortable. We opted for no breakfast as there's plenty to choose from to eat oustide. Small TV with local stations, one English and no remote but not really looking to watch TV. Good WiFi, which is free.

Não recomendo!

A hospedaria parece uma espelunca e não devia ser permito receber hóspedes. Mobília estragada, falta de higiene, wc com sanitários velhos e estragados, janelas velhas, roupa da cama sem condições. Tem baratas e mosquitos. Nunca mais! Um desconforto total.

Zum Schlafen reicht es aus. Ist halt eine alte Jugendherberge. Zimmer sehr klein, im Bad kann man sich gerde so aufhalten. Frühstück einfach aber ausreichend. Aber jeden Tag frische Handtücher und freundliches Personal

Vi övervann trafikljudet genom att använda öronproppar. Bra backar för motionerande. Även trapporna gav ett positivt motionsinslag. Mycket bekvämt med tvätthjälp, till billig penning. Nära till hållplats för flygbussen. Enkel frukost, men tillräcklig.
