We loved every minute of our stay. The staff were so kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome. They were particularly lovely with our one year old granddaughter. The room was spotless and the pools were amazing!

Brilliant hotel in great location

We had a brilliant time staying at the Eden Mar. Location is great for being able to wander through the gardens and along the promenade.

Friendly approachable staff in a well kept environment. Beautiful pools and garden areas and shared facilities with Porto Mare hotel. Alfama breakfast restaurant buffet a bit bijou but can use Atlântida which is more open. Well situated for walking or regular buses into Funchal. Very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay,

Fantastic service and staff

Very attentive staff and hotel is located centrally for everything you need. Beautiful gardens and pools with lovely secluded areas you can sit in the sun. Recommended and will be coming again!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great facilities and right next to Funchal. Bedroom was extremely comfortable. Only thing that let it down is the food at the pool bar is rather poor - whilst all the food at the other restaurants and breakfast buffet is very nice.

Considering it is one of the oldest hotels in Lido Eden MaR remains one of the best ! Amazing gardens, comfortable up to date accommodation and excellent service! Breakfast at Alfama was very nice each time I went! Would recommend this hotel and PortoBay Group.

Very nice hotel with helpfull friendly staff. Good facilities with the added bonus of being able to use the facilities of it's sister hotel next door. The grounds of the two hotel merged together and were beautifully kept. Nice location next to the ocean and a 40 minute walk into the centre of Funchal. Regular local buses into the centre of Funchal stop outside the hotel.

Family hotel

Elegant, sea-facing hotel, set among tropical gardens with several restaurants and swimming pools. It’s part of the Porto Bay group and one of three hotels within the Porte Mare resort in Funchal. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast had a good choice of food. There are shops and restaurants around the hotel, and a supermarket nearby. If you are fit, it's an acceptable walk to town. Otherwise you can take a taxi or a bus.

Hotel Eden Mar is a gem among the many hotels of the new Funchal area. The many pools, grounds and general facility are kept in immaculate shape. The daily cleaning of our rooms and hotel was amazing. When we were tired of all the tourist activities on the island Eden Mar provided a quiet retreat where it was just fun to enjoy the swimming and grounds at the hotel. The choices for breakfast must have covered everything and there were always plenty of hot tasty food and plenty of smiles and good mornings from a very hard working staff throughout the hotel. Probably one of the best if not the best hotel we have stayed at during our many travels.

The hotel complex was very good. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were all very friendly and worked really hard. We used the gym and pool both indoor and outdoor and everything was to a high standard. We had a junior suite and found the furnishings very tired this was a disappointment(the rest of the hotel was very different). The bathroom was old. The room was a good size. The bed was comfortable.

I loved this hotel! This was our third time to Madeira but first at this hotel. In future this is where I will always book. The staff treat you like family and everyone from front desk, restaurant, bar, pool staff all pay attention to the smallest of details to make the guests comfortable. This resort is perfectly located and has so many nice amenities. We have a child with mobility problems and everything was accessible. It has numerous big pools both heated and unheated. The gym was one of the best at a hotel I have seen. There are numerous family games to play such as ping pong, air hockey, snooker, and boules. There is also a small playground. The food at the hotel is delicious but is also very close to good restaurants and a good sized supermarket. Wonderful place!

This was our first time in Funchal, but our choice of hotel was excellent. The suite was of a good size and well supported with equipment for our needs. The balcony was great, and we had a lovely view of the sea. It was a little noisier than we were expecting, but part of that was due to a nearby hotel being renovated. I expect that rooms facing the interior of the hotel would be quieter. The ensuite was very practical and the rooms were cleaned each day to a very high standard. Towels were also provided for the pools and spa. The complex is wonderful. A choice of pools (indoor and outdoor) and plenty of options for sitting in the sun or the shade. The buffet breakfast was outstanding - plenty of choice each day with hot and cold options. You could even enjoy a glass of sparkling wine if you were so inclined! The staff spoke excellent English and were all incredibly polite and helpful. There are plenty of dining options close by, and a choice of supermarkets. A bus route into the centre was nearby, but you could walk there and back, if so inclined. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, if coming back to Funchal. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday, with plenty to see and do in Madeira.

Das Zimmer/Studio ist ist gross und bietet ausreichend Platz. Der Kühlschrank hat sogar ein Eisfach und in der kleinen Kochzeile findet man alles was nan braucht. Das Hotel ist schön eingerichtet, aber man merkt vorallem im Bad und dem Teppichboden im Zimmer, das die Anlage schon etwas älter ist. Hier würde eine Renovierung gut tun. (Heute verlegt man hygienische Fussböden). Alles andere ist gut.
