The hotel is in a perfect location in Funchal, can't be better. The hotel room wasn't in a great condition, it definitely needs some work, as this is a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was ok.

I loved the rooftop bar which has spectacular views over Funchal and a great selection of drinks and light meals. Happy Hour was always a favourite!. The UVA restaurant is well worth a visit and offers a good price/quality ratio. The staff are efficient, cheerful and friendly. I have no real downers - may be the turn down service was earlier than expected but I'm nitpicking here.

Great location in Funchal! Perfect walking distance to everything — especially convenient after a long day of hiking and sightseeing when you want to just wander for dinner. The rooftop pool was stunning, with plenty of loungers to choose from. Such a relaxing spot to unwind. They also host nightly performers, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The entertainment felt top-notch (definitely not cheesy), and I loved it! The daily breakfast buffet on the terrace was a wonderful touch — a great way to start the day. ✨ Highly recommend!

Truly Impressive Stay! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning architecture — the design is both elegant and inviting. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff made us feel welcome and were always very friendly and efficient. The hotel is small enough for everything to feel quite personal and it is in a great location just on the edge of the old town, making it an easy walk to get around without the need for buses and taxis, unless you want to go further afield. The room was spacious and well appointed with possibly one of the largest beds I have encountered in a hotel. Great walk in shower and a good sized bath too. Breakfast was excellent, with an extensive selection to choose from, including fresh fruit, cereals, cheeses and cold meats, pastries, different breads and also a good range of cooked options. The whole experience made our stay in Funchal memorable

The Vine was an excellent hotel in a great location. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would particularly highlight Hermes, Carmo, Bernardo and Jorges in the bar, the restaurant and at breakfast. It was a shame that my room upgrade was not available but the room we had was still nice. The Vine is easy walking distance to the harbour, the old town and multiple restaurants. The rooftop pool, bar and restaurant are also a fantastic place to spend time.

We have stayed at The Vine on numerous occasions now and we love it. The rooftop pool area is lovely and the food is really good. All the staff are friendly and really helpful and smiley. We had a junior suite this time which was spacious and the bed was super comfortable with beautiful linen. Great breakfast choice as well. One suggestion would be to get rid of the pebble flooring in the bathroom area, it is really uncomfortable to walk on.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super! In der Nähe der Altstadt und des Hafens, alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und gemütlich, modern und sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet ließ keine Wünsche offen. Ich würde dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.
