"My first time in the UK: This was our last stop before going back to the USA. I loved the charm of this hotel. We sat on the patio for supper and the food was great as well as the hard working waitress. She was very nice. Bed was comfortable! Cotton sheets! Yay! The oscillating fan was a nice touch. I’m ok with no air conditioning but a bedspread would have been the ideal covering instead of a heavy comforter. Would definitely stay there again."

"For a budget room this was ideal. Compact but clean and comfortable beds. Perfect location as could walk into Southampton centre and the docks. Continental breakfast but enough variety to fill you up. On arrival we was greeted by Simon on reception who was extremely helpful and polite and gave some excellent local knowledge for walks on the docks and other areas, thank you."

"Under a mile away from the Southampton central station and close to a bus stop, Madison is more like a serviced apartment in a residential neighbourhood than a traditional hotel. Room has a kitchenette with hob, oven, fridge and sink. You also get the standard kettle and tea / coffee assortment, Rooms and the property overall is extremely neat and tidy. Check-in and check-out is remotely managed. You do get a call from the host if your stay is going well, otherwise you are on your own. You also have access to a washing machine and dryer; but. you need to bring your own detergent and softener. There is adequate light through the large windows with blinds to make the room look airy and large. There is no lift and if you prefer a ground floor room you may have to inform the hosts upfront. Lugging the suitcase up the steep staircase can be a. task for some. Parking is available within the premises, although I did not use the facility. Definitely a good place to stay for a few days in Southampton."
