"We really enjoyed our experience here in the "Hobbit House" While small it was generally well appointed, except for the self-catering being restrictive. The service was super friendly, the breakfast was good the hosts generous with their offerings and range of food. Good access to Alberobello and Matera for day visits."

We visited well outside the tourist season and were the only guests—yet the owners graciously kept the hotel open just for us and prepared breakfast with such care. The only downside was that there was no kettle in the room — even after asking, we had to go downstairs to the reception each time to get hot water. Also, the mattress was a bit too authentic (an old, creaky bed with a worn-out mattress)."
