"So, this is my second stay here. I was here just 6 months ago and had a bit of a different experience this time . Parking and getting to the lobby is easy here, and checking in went fast and smooth. I was given my room keys and off I went . Upon reaching the room at quick glance it looked ok, but once you really start looking, the place is showing some pretty decent wear. My couch had a few ..stains on it, some of the baseboards were starting to peel off the walls, (I get it, wear and tear happens) but what really got me was the bathroom. On the wall at the back side of the toilet were some form of fluid stains clearly visible in the wallpaper (I don’t even want to know) to the left AND right of the toilet , which is pretty disgusting. That was enough to throw off the vibe of the stay, and though the bedding was comfortable and the room was quiet , I just couldn’t get comfortable imagining what else lurked cleanliness wise that I couldn’t see."

"We were just passing through and needed a place to stay for the night. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. the room was clean with just some minor stains on the sofa. The staff were helpful and got us an extra pillow when we asked. If you need a dark room to sleep, bring a sleep mask. I forgot mine and it was a bit bright, but I was still able to sleep. Just some information to help prepare someone, not a complaint at all! This hotel is close to everything we needed for the night and next morning, which was super helpful. We were also glad that the breakfast was more than cereal and bread! Having protein options for breakfast meant we didn't have to go buy breakfast. We'll stay there again if we're going through Council Bluffs. It was an excellent experience."

"The king suite with sofa sleeper room was our room. The mattress on the sofa sleeper has obviously never been replaced but was extremely well used. If you are going to advertise the room as having a sofa sleeper you need to replace the mattresses or just advertise it as a king room with sofa."

"The view of the river is worth a room with a view! If you want to enjoy the view even more, choose a patio river view room. The pool area is closed unless it is summer. I truly wish the hot tub could be open in the spring and fall. The restaurant is a must, excellent food and great staff."

"This was our second time staying at The Magnolia. Everything was good. We had an issue our first night with the air conditioning not working in our room and I was very impressed with the way the staff handled it. Within a few minutes of my call to the front desk they offered to move us to another room on the same floor which we gladly took. It was nice to not have to deal with maintenance showing up and trying to fix it and then potentially having it not work again. Our only other request would be to have ice machines on each floor. "

"This is the noiset hotel I have ever stayed in. The phones in the room did not work, (I put in 2 trouble reports about this). You could hear everyword the next room saying. Had to comfront them about this. The evening shift staff member could careless about what I pass on to him. For me this hotel will not be on my list to stay at in furture travels. "
