We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We arrived at the hotel after a long overnight flight and were able to check in early, which we were very appreciative of. The rooms were quiet, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is terrific… great location…couldn’t be happier!

Great Ghent

This is a fantastic place to stay. Close to public transport. Well appointed, spacious rooms. The staff were incredible, especially Meliesa, who will definitely win receptionist of the year. She went over and beyond, train tickets, bus timetables, city card, recommendations of places to visit all with a cheerful, happy demeanour. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Castelnou Apartments and would recommend it to any traveller.

Good hotel choice

Staff was friendly, and even provided nice brochures with useful information. Breakfast was good. Bathroom was alright. The room was very spacious. The room's kitchen was well equipped. The hotel is close enough to be able to reach the city's center by walking, but also happens to conveniently have public transportation close by. Overall a good hotel choice to visit Ghent.

A great place to stay

Lovely stay - the kitchen was really helpful about sorting me a lovely meal when I arrived & had a Zoom meeting till just before they closed, & the desk staff were friendly & helpful & the bar staff were great too. Missing a star because the shower cold tap didn't work. Loking forward to coming back!

Amazing staff!

Staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. Sandra and Michel went above and beyond. Good location, 15 min walk to centre. Secure parking available. Nice breakfast. Room was a little dark but clean and had everything one required incl hairdryer.

The staff were all lovely; Luc was especially helpful, gave great advice, recommendations, directions. The suite was a really great size. The furniture in the room was starting to look shabby and the two drains in the bathroom were slow. For some reason the TV kept turning off. I would stay there again.

Great reception staff and very welcoming on arrival. The property is only a short walk from the centre and all the main sights of Ghent. The area is quiet and away from nightlife and traffic noise. The room was a good size and we made good use of the small kitchenette. There was a generous variety of buffet style breakfast on offer. We struggled to control the room temperature using the thermostat and were a little overwhelmed by the heat in the room. It would probably be ok for those who like a more cosy temperature but it was too much for us.

We used the restaurant and the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The lady on reception was extremly helful, showing us the best route to walk to get to the main attractions. Unfortunately, it was a bit too far for me to walk as I use a walking stick. She then shown us where to catch the bus, just round the corner, and wrote on the map the names of the stops. She also told us about the boat trips and that you pay less if you are over 65. The boat trip is well worth going on.

Another treasure to add to the treasures of Ghent

Stayed for 5 days and would have to say it is the friendliest hotel with most helpful staff we have experienced. Large rooms, spotlessly clean and amazing breakfast included in price. Catered for gluten free ( if advised beforehand) with a special plate of rolls and pastries brought to table. Ghent itself is the best treasure (the Ghent Alterpiece 16E tour essential) but also a good base place to stay for train trips to Brugge, Antwerp etc. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Gand Dampoort station and also a 15 minute walk to historic centre. But it’s a nice walk along the canals. Also a bus outside hotel for 2.5 euros if desired ( or reception sell 10 tickets for 17 euros for buses and trams). We would definitely recommend this hotel if you are fit enough to do the walks to station or town or have a car. Don’t miss the little hidden market just a few hundred metres away with wonderful local produce of fruits veges cheeses coffee and cakes. The hotel has cooking facilities in each room if needed
