"Best thing about the stay was the view of the Mississippi River from our room. Room was clean. Had a fridge and microwave -- nice touch. Internet/Wi-Fi was sporadic; don't count on it for your usage. AC unit worked nicely but was noisy like most motels/hotels. The retreat overlooks Highway 52 on a bluff so you have a nice view of the River. On the downside, there is a rail line close by and trains roll through during the night blowing their whistles and semi trucks going by on Hwy 52 using their air brakes made for challenging nights. Good luck in getting a good, sound night's sleep. The exterior needs some TLC. The property had some nice features such as lounge chairs, grill, and fire pit. But the deck leading to the 2nd level is deteriorating. The structure could use some repair and paint. The grounds seemed to have a natural prairie look but there were weeds to take away from the attempted natural beauty. In summary, the Retreat had some nice features but also could be improved to make a person's stay more enjoyable. Since we didn't spend much time in our room other than sleeping and cleaning up, the negative aspects of the property didn't impact us much."
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Prairie du Chien
2/10 Terrible
"Very disappointed.I have regularly stayed at country inn n suites.
The tub did not have a non slip free mat and when you applied.Soap, it made the tub even more slippery.
Refrigerator in the room froze our food
The 4 beds were very squeaky and you could hear the squeaky bed in the room behind us
We were asked to move our car to accommodate the fishermen, who must have been tournament fishing
I could hear the snoring of the person in the room next to us.
No working bathroom fan.
Kids running late into the night back and forth in the halls
When you walked without your shoes on the carpet in the rooms, you would get grit sand like to your feet.
Unable to regulate the air conditioner unit slept in a cold room.
The staff who worked the breakfast area was very pleasant, as was the young lady who checked us in.
I did very much appreciate the hotel being pet friendly.
We will not be staying again.
The wifi kept kicking off"
"This gem of a hotel had a kind and helpful staff, tasty continental breakfast, clean and lovely room, and a nice pool and hot tub. My daughters thought they were in the lap of luxury and left a note in the room to make sure people knew that they had a blast during our stay. We would definitely recommend Sleep Inn!"
