"Starland looks and probably is a remodeled Condo/AirBnb type development, so it has all the usual pluses and minuses that come with it. In other words, expect more of a rental unit type situation than either a hotel or motel. That being said, the remodeling was nicely done, the facilities are clean and secure, the beds are comfortable and best of all it is within a stone's throw of the Sylvia Park Mall. The price is affordable too, so if you want a no-frills and budget-friendly apartment unit close to the mall, I don't think you can do better than this. Also, the staff are friendly and helpful."

"Overall a very nice place to stay. Rooms are upgraded and comfortable. Only complaints are that the Wi-Fi can be slow at times or cut out, and there are not enough power points and zero USB charging ports so make sure to bring your own."

"Pros: ​Convenient Location: Only a 20-minute drive to the CBD and the airport, which is handy for travelers. ​Walking Distance to Shops: There is a large shopping mall just a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to grab supplies or food. ​Cons: ​Severe Hygiene Issues: While the room looked clean on the surface, it was infested with fleas. After one night, me and my friend woke up with itchy bites and red bumps all over my body. This is a major health and safety concern. ​No On-site Staff: The front desk was completely unmanned. The service bell is useless as no one responds to it. ​Frustrating Check-in: You are forced to call a "remote" phone number provided on-site just to get your room key. It’s an unnecessarily complicated and cold process. ​Final Verdict: The convenience of the location does not justify the lack of basic hygiene and service."

"The positives: The staff are so nice. The location is beautiful, the views are incredible. However, the rooms need a big update. There is an odor that permeates the room. When the doors are open, it’s not bad but at night on the first floor you cannot leave the doors open cause someone could just walk into your room from the outside while you’re sleeping. Therefore, the rooms probably should be painted the furniture updated, and a thorough thorough cleaning. I think this place has the potential to be an amazing motel just needs a lot of updating"
