"We stayed in the Cottage which was very nice, well appointed, clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We originally booked a standard room which is not in the original 1888 building but when we were shown the Cottage which is part of the original we upgraded and very happy we did."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Gadsden W-Near Attalla by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows. Best Parr us breakfast, food was very good and the staff was happy, friendly, kind, and attentive! I've never had hotel staff at breakfast this great! Would absolutely stay here again."
"Checked in here for a few hours (made reservations weeks prior) after a football game at the University. It looked okay from the outside. The older front desk lady could’ve been more welcoming at first but she ended up being okay. Room has a lot of potential to be nice, but it just needs some cleaners who care. We had a two queen room and one of the comforter toppers had a stain on it. Room smells old and like it’s been closed up. The mini fridge has some black stuff resembling mildew in it and you could see watered down juice inside the bottom on the fridge. I didn’t notice this until after I put my food in, w that ruined my meal. Laminate floors could use a good sweeping and mopping. The bathroom floor had dirt streaks. The bathroom walls by the toilet were literally dirty. We went across the street to get cleaning supplies and I sprayed some on the bathroom walls and the brown liquid ran down the wall. This place could be nice, but it’s cringy to say the least. I am disappointed because what Red Roof Inn used to be, this was nowhere close!
We bought towels and rags, disinfectant spray, and odor remover spray. Slept on top of the towels. Couldn’t push ourselves to shower. Woke up very early to leave to get away from this place. We would NEVER stay here again, even if it was free of charge!"
"The women’s handicap stall in the lobby bathroom was not user friendly. The handrail was not within reach of the toilet. I did complain to the counter person. He stated it was recently remodeled. I’m sure it is not ADA approved."
